Star Wars Terrain by denzien

We start off this week's Community Spotlight and the last one of 2025 with a look at some excellent terrain being built for use in your games of Star Wars: Legion. denzien has done an excellent job on a ruin but also a lot of incidental pieces that help to sell the look of a lived in Star Wars tabletop.

Star Wars Terrain #1 by denzien

One of these pieces that really caught my eye was this bay for the X-Wing. I always love seeing the iconic touchstones of Star Wars popping up on the tabletop and the X-Wing is certainly one of those. This is also one of those pictures where you immediately appreciate the use of clear bases on miniatures.

I also really liked this camp that has been set up somewhere in the depths of a forest.

Star Wars Terrain #2 by denzien

It looks great and would serve as a fun bit of terrain to skirmish around. I like the way that the undergrowth has taken over different parts of the terrain and that you get a sense that this wreck/camp has been here for a while.

This all comes together as part of this wonderful-looking set of Star Wars terrain that feels like it would be right at home on those chaotic battle maps in Battlefront. You've got all of the Yavin vibes going on here and I love that you can immediately recognise so many different elements of the terrain from various takes on this location.

Star Wars Terrain #3 by denzien

There is a lot more for you to sink your teeth into as part of this project, watching it grow and evolve over the past few weeks. It looks excellent and should stand denzien in good standing for when they dive back into Star Wars: Legion for some more games soon.

Dinosaur Park by necrothrall

Sticking with terrain but moving to another classic movie franchise, necrothrall has been working away on a TerrainFest project that focuses in on the awesomeness that is Jurassic Park. I mean, Dinosaur Island...err, Reptile Health and Safety Nightmare.

Jurassic Park Terrain #2 by necrothrall

They have been working their way through some excellent terrain that they're going to use for We Played God, a new dinosaur-themed skirmish game that comes from the prolific Black Site Studio. That means plenty of accurate terrain and, of course, some dinosaurs for good measure.

You can't go too far wrong with a solid toilet, although I think this has about as much chance of keeping the unfortunate lawyer safe as the one in the movie. necrothrall also had a bit of fun with a poor goat!

Jurassic Park Terrain #1 by necrothrall

This looks very fun and a great way to showcase, with a nudge and a wink, the goings-on happening on this island! I am a big fan of dinosaurs and so having them on the tabletop gets a big tick from me. The predator with the tiny arms is always going to be a winner for me.

Any tropical island housing dinosaurs is going to need plenty of palm trees for you to run through when you're escaping the big beasties and so that is what necrothrall has been working on next. You can see the work in progress below, which involves a lot of modelling compound.

Jurassic Park Terrain #3 by necrothrall

We Played God doesn't require a drastically large amount of space to play and so with a few of these tree sections on the tabletop alongside some incidental terrain pieces, I think it's going to be fun seeing what the final setup looks like. It will be fun to get some thoughts on We Played God as well to see what the game is like.

Snippets of Everything by jeffersonpowers

We started with Star Wars and we return to Star Wars. jeffersonpowers has been painting up more miniatures for my favourite Star Wars game, Shatterpoint. These are some more of the new miniatures from the range.

Painting All Sorts #1 by jeffersonpowers

Riff Tamson here has been painted up exceptionally well and I love all the attention to detail, especially when keeping the suit looking as neat as it is. He has a suitably fearsome maw and I think the extra work on the water on the base really helps to sell the action surrounding the figure. The full crew has also been painted up...

Painting All Sorts #2 by jeffersonpowers

An excellent-looking squad with some awesome droids. I didn't realise just how big they were until I saw them in this image. Star Wars: Shatterpoint really sells the Saturday Morning Cartoon vibes and I've yet to see a set of figures for the game that I haven't been won over by.

As well as working on Star Wars, jeffersonpowers has also been painting all sorts as you'll see by the miniatures below.

Painting All Sorts #3 by jeffersonpowers

These came from a Crooked Dice collection for Corporate Wars and are going to be dropped into some games of Star Schlock in the future. They have a great, retro feel to them and I was particularly taken by the relatively luminous look that jeffersonpowers has managed to get for the miniatures. They feel very authentically Cyberpunky in an old way.

This isn't all that jeffersonpowers has been working on, though, so go and check out more Shatterpoint, Fantasy figures, mutants and more.
