Fight On The Carcass Front With New Trench Crusade Boxed Set
March 27, 2026 by brennon
Factory Fortress Inc. has revealed their brand-new narrative campaign box and starter set for those wanting to dive into their Grimdark wargame, Trench Crusade. Carcass Front is available to pre-order right now, packed with miniatures and more to get you started in the game.
Carcass Front // Trench Crusade
The armies of Hell stir once more and threaten the lands north of New Antioch, known as the Carcass Front. With portents pointing to the return of the Leviathan, the Faithful and the Fallen have gathered together and are battling to secure the future of mankind or its utter damnation.
At the core of this new set is the Carcass Front Campaign Book. This is a ninety-six-page book that expands the lore, art and rules for Trench Crusade. There are two entire campaigns within the book. The first is a two-player narrative campaign with a series of bespoke scenarios that link together and focus on the raising or slaying of Leviathan.
The second campaign is a map-based campaign for two to eight players where you battle for control of resources across the Carcass Front. The box also contains new mechanics to make it so that you can revisit the campaign and play it differently each time.
Carcass Front - Components // Trench Crusade
In terms of additional components, the Carcass Front set also comes with a set of record sheets, a post map for you to track your progress and more. You'll also find the Quickstart Rules Reference for getting stuck into Trench Crusade and the Introductory Scenario, The World is Burning, which will get you started with the game.
New Plastic Warbands
To get started in Trench Crusade and the Carcass Front, you could play as one of your existing warbands or you could take on the role of the two warbands introduced in this boxed set. You will find full rules for running the Procession of the Sacred Affliction and Heretic Naval Raiders on the tabletop.
Procession of the Sacred Affliction // Trench Crusade
The box comes with sixteen miniatures, which are two ready-to-play 700 Ducat Warbands. Each miniature from the set comes with two assembly options and you can follow the included guides in order to build them based to what you think would work best.
On the one side, you have the Procession of the Sacred Affliction. They are perfect for those who want to get stuck into fighting heretics with blades and holy fire. They are an up close and personal warband who can shrug off even the deadliest of wounds thanks to their faith, sending the servants of Hell back into the abyss.
On the other side of this, you have the Heretic Naval Raiders.
Heretic Naval Raiders // Trench Crusade
The Heretic Naval Raiders focus on smaller numbers but use their mobility and powers of infiltration to get into good positions from where they can strike. They will then make sure that you die in a hail of gunfire and rusty, wicked blades. It's very cool to have a more naval-themed set for the Heretics, playing around with a very different aesthetic for Trench Crusade from what we've seen so far.
It should be noted that these are more brand-new plastic warbands that have no doubt been crafted alongside the partnership with Archon Studio. Pre-orders for Carcass Front are available now, ahead of shipping in July.
This was a Strench Goal that turned into a full product for Trench Crusade, bringing together the likes of Tuomas Pirinen, Andy Chambers and Jervis Johnson on design, Mike Franchina, Pedro Nunez, Artem Demura and Thomas Elliott on art, and lore by Tuomas Pirinen and Graham McNeill. An impressive cast of designers and artists.
Will you be getting the Carcass Front boxed set?

Gutted. 😞 Disappointing models else this would have been a great box to get in on. Would have been better with factions that looked more WW1 like many of the other minis out there.
it may be a grim dark setting, but could they please add some light to their group shots ?
they’re a bit lost in the dark out there. 🙁
(anyone else thought they were navel raiders ? 😉 )
@limburger like belly button lint collecting navel raiders?
Would be probably into this, but it’s … just Euro. Have never seen any North American store offer this. In any way shape or form.
So … 40K continues. ☹️
Love this so much, cant wait to get my hands on it
