January 30, 2017 by dignity
We kick off our Wrath of Kings week with Dave Taylor and Bryan Steele of Cool Mini Or Not introducing us to the five kingdoms of Arikania and the factions that vie for power within them.
Watch Wrath of Kings Week
They tell us how sibling ambition and rivalry has torn the continent apart in conflict with each of their noble house's mastering different forms of magic and technology to achieve their goals.

Looking forward to this! Been eyeing the game for a while now…
The artwork for this game is beautiful – looking forward to seeing the mini’s. Vampires and Werewolves has stoked my interest for this game… Looking forward to the week ahead….
Love the art work, just started painting up my KS pledge
Excellent! I love the insight into the kingdoms themselves. It gives players an idea of the nature and mentality of the peoples of those kingdoms, by allowing us to see how the world has shaped them and how they have shaped their world. There wasn’t much of this in the first book (which I love) but it did give a good insight to the character of the peoples of this world I thought.
I’m definitely looking forward to this week!
We had a conversation about Wrath of Kings on Thursday night during our regular mgame night. This content is extremely timely.
Yes, I have been waiting for this! I don’t have anyone to play this with locally but have managed about 5 games after some travel lo
I’m in the same boat, hopefully this means a push from CMON and more people picking it up.
Me and at buddy bought this 2 player starter set it’s a great intro to a really good game played a demo at last years salute and loved it, starter set comes with everything you need great models sat cards tokens and rule book,we have since added a couple of extra units each and it’s always a great game, plus very balanced between the two factions, also a bargain at around £45
This vid is a really good insite into the world and it’s history, plus those artworks of the cityscapes are beautiful.
Pigmen! Gotta be a Pigman army.
Sharky Dudes all the way !!!
Great looking game – love the unusual factions and cool mechanics. Will definitely consider this !
have been eying this game for a while, so looking forward to this weeks content. the artwork is great and im liking the fluff so far
Does anybody know where to get “Rising Conflicts” & the “Book 1 Premium Card Set” in Europe?
This is one of the kickstarter i was able to resist, barely.
Great art, and a bit of a wider view. The Hydaross and Teknis are the two I find interesting.
I have looks at the different army and i like the pig faction the TechNess looks great !!
I am looking forward to the rest of the week. This video had me interested in learning more about this game and world.
liking the vampire and the mask factions
I love the models.
Always loved the ‘off kilter’ races for this, and still have boxes of Hadross from the original KS to work on. Looking forward to this expanding, good rules (had problems believing they are so tight when I originally read them), and beautiful models.
I need more fish men (and Pigs, gotta have pigs)
You had me at “enormous trapped-elemental turbine gubbins”.
Ihave just about all of Goritsi, a reasonable amount of Teknes, a bit of Shael han and a starter box of Nasier. No Hadross at all. Oh and I have the hardback rulebook.
This week is going to be legit, can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Looks like an interesting game, and another to add to the already long list of games I fancy trying….
I’ll be staying with you guys all week to keep an eye on this. Very cool looking game.
It would be really fun making terrain for that game. Wild, wild terrain.
Bought some Hadross for my wife to paint a while ago. Been dying to actually try and play one day soon if we grab another faction.
great artwork, very immersive story line. looking forward to the other videos this week
great miniatures and a cool game mechanic. I hope this coverage revitalizes the game.
This game has some really awesome minis.
The artwork is very cool and looking at the minis, while I like the bigger beasts overall, they are all really cool looking.
Really interesting stuff – definitely looking forward to the more detailed Faction chats 🙂
Yes it has started
Could be interesting, nice artwork.
I’ve been waiting for this game to get some more recognition, it’s not played anywhere I know and it’s impossible to get anyone to want to play it when they don’t see it anywhere.
I honestly do love those werewolf models, especially that new Alpha I’ve seen images off steampunk jet pack wolf!! If anything is a talking point that is.
I love the artwork in this game. I missed the Kickstarter for it and am wondering if it is worth getting into. I am glad that Beasts of War is putting on a themed week as it gives me an opportunity to see how it plays and if it worth the investment. Looking forward to the rest of the videos.
super cool! Nasir are especially sweet looking
I’ve been watching this game for a while, but never been able to decide on a faction. Hopefully this week can help me decide.
I love the look and feel of the Wrath of Kings stuff!
Really love this game. Art and mini are so nice, love it !
This looks good so far… A mate of mine has it therefore the game has definitely been on the back burner. Looking forward to the demo game and learning about the factions some more.
The story writing for Wrath of Kings is actually pretty exceptional. Been with the project since the kickstarter and been pretty happy with the ongoing support. One of the awesome things about Wrath of Kings is the quality of painting that you see coming out of the community.
The Teknes looks like it could be crazy fun with their mad science sorcery.
I’ve been very interested in WoK… so this week should be a fun ride… 🙂
I can’t decide whether I’m a Nasier or a Hadross fan. I think aesthetically Hadross have the edge but my normal playstyle is more Nasier. So nice. So so nice!!!
I’ve managed to get this on the table twice. Hopefully the theme week will kickstart some interest 🙂
Looking forward to this week to see more! Thanks for diving in to this!
nice to get a run down, I’m really interested in seeing the changes to Hadross from the first edition book. Hoping this week will kick me on to finishing some of my warbands and the ton of scenery I got from TH specifically for this.
I like the original take on the world of Wrath of Kings. I spent too many years playing D&D and fantasy rpg video games with basically the same backstory of Lord of the Rings. I also must say I think CMON have done a good job with the factions as I think I could find something about each one that I would find enjoyable to paint and play.
Nice back story here .
Like the sound of this tell me more,
I’m really looking forward to this week. I really like how Wrath is non-standard fantasy, I mean pig men, fish men, etc…. Sounds silly when you say it like that but then you look at the Hadross models ( that octopus with rider!) just amazing. Can’t wait for the individual faction videos.
A fantasy setting that doesn’t seem use the “normal” fantasy races very interesting world, the backstory reminds me of an old Computer game called Total Annihilation Kingdoms.
Deep Voices you say? very Cthulhu 😀
Shael Han sound a bit like Avatar Last Airbender turned up to 11
Really liking the Goritsi with their classic Gothic Horror aesthetic.
Teknes, Mad Scientist Magitech Engineers? there is mutch fun to be had there methinks 🙂
This is going to be another excellent week 😀
We’ll have a nice week with this game, the artwork are great. I need to know more about the gameplay.
Nice to have some flesh / backstory to the factions we’ve already seen. Intrigued with what we’ll see the rest of this week. Hopefully this will engage a lot of people and the game can really get established.
I have a Nasier army and I’m building up a Teknes one.
A great game, fast play, simple mechanisms but with enough tactical depth to keep it interesting and repeatable.
The short story in the rulebook is so good. It gets you into the world and introduces the characters so we’ll. Definitely worth reading!
Looking really cool. I am really liking the House Teknes.
Wow awesome game, looks cool as hell! Those arts are marvellous…
The fluff sounds interesting and the art looks great. Looking forward to learn more about this game.
Seem nice, I wanted to back there KS, Sad Panda =(
Really intrigued by the backstory and especially the politicking between each faction.
Love the look of this game. Been watching its progress for a while. It has a slightly Rackhamesk style to it which I love
The artwork is just gorgeous! Looking very much forward to the faction videos.
looking forward to this week
have the first book but no models yett
Great looking world and really interesting as well. One of the ones that I have been meaning to pick up for a long while.
I love the mercenaries ability for the leader to shoot through the crowd via pushing and pulling enemy troops out of position.
I like that it is not the standard Tolkien trope
Great models, solid rules, awesome Devs. Really hope more people jump on board the WoK train 🙂
Looking forward to the wok week.
Models are awesome
Some nice ideas and cool art, but its all about the minis and the gameplay. Lets se some models!
Some interesting art work so far, it is amazing to have such a rich and seemingly complex back story for the game. It must take a lot of design work and development to evolve all this prior to making a game, that would actually be interesting to be involved on a game project from the start to seeing the end result.
The artwork looks great and is very inviting. But I’m still not sure what all the fighting is about.
From what I’ve seen so far I’m most interested in House Tecniss (is that how you spell it?) and House Goritzi.
Good start to the week
ill be here keeping an eye on this
Oh dear. Another interesting looking game. My 2017 resolution of buying no new games might unravel fast…and it’s only January!
Looks like we found out where all the Rackham artists went. Looks fun!
Great game and the world seems like fun as well. Can’t wait for the rest of the week.
Very glad to finally see some Wrath of Kings coverage, will be sure to watch it all.
Fish people
Nice… Like the idea of Goritsi, who wouldn’t want an army of werewolves and vampires!
Though I like the steampunk feel of Teknes, for me it stands out from the rest
I’ve only gotten to play WoK a few times but have really enjoyed it. Its a wonderful quick game to do before or after whatever your major game of interest is.
I really like this setting and the artwork is awesome.
I play Teknes, really enjoy the game. Glad to see it covered here.
Quite a bit of interest in our club at the mo – will be watching carefully.
I like it so far. …
Nice! Thanks BoW and CMON for keeping this game in the loop!!! The models are some of my favorite.. awesome and easy to assemble!! Looking forward to the new releases as well!
Love the game fluff and sculpts been considering getting into it for a while
Super stoked for this week. Looking forward to learning more about Wrath of Kings.
The art work is beautiful, adds some real feel to the world and the factions.
I nearly backed this Kickstarter years ago because the fluff was awesome. Looking forward to this week.
CMON has a direct IV drip from my wallet to their bank accounts.
Comment to win!
All hail the eternal king!
This sets it up nicely, roll on WoK week!
At the moment I’m looking forward to the Techies! I like my steaming Dwarves!!
Those werewolves are very cool – do I have room for more miniatures? Can I afford more 🙂
great setting… looking forward to seeing faction models in more detail and beating the s#!t out of each other!
Woohoo! Been looking forward to this, the game deserves more attention!
love the artwork
love Goritsi range of miniatures. Looking forward for more BoW videos about this game!
I have almost every starter set and then some. This game has some of the best models I have ever seen. Also the game is affordable for the amount of models you get.
Unfortunately I never had the cash to get in on the Kickstarter but I did get into this game shortly after, I love everything about this world and the mechanics are easy to follow yet the game play is complicated enough for strategy. I now have a Goritsi army and am looking at collecting either Shael Han or Teknes. This is my favourite fantasy game right now.
Need to stick together my Shael Han the art is pretty awesome
I’m House Hadross.
I have been waiting to see this game played. I read the book when I got it for free at Gencon or somewhere and the writing and fiction are really good for a new game.
Really liking the story and artwork
Wrath of kings! I’ve been hoping you guys would do an in depth review / analysis of this game as I really know next to nothing about it. Plus, I really just love the Cool Mini or Not guys. The Goritsi sound really interesting.
Outside of the rule books, are there any published works in this universe?
Really cool looking game
I love my Hadross army (aka Team Shark Week), but the new artwork for Nasir and Shael Han has my interest piqued! Can’t wait to see the rest of the videos 🙂
Interesting background, I want to learn more.
A bit disappointed I didn’t go in the Kickstarter for this a while back now
I really like house Goritsi and Shael Han.
This game has piqued my interest, looking forward to seeing more on the different factions
I’m a little late to the party, but good to see Dave and Brian back!
Living in the UK as I do, I’d really like to win Rising Conflicts and the card deck- I’ve said it before, but hopefully when the new Distributor is announced and product starts hitting these shores in greater numbers, more folks will give WOK a try!
Shael-Han all the way!
Watching this made me curious to find out more. See you guys in the next video.
love the look of Hadross, want some of them for my escotaric order of dagon
I really like all of the wolf models in these kits but what I am super surprised about is how the box art is actually not as good as the models.
The models look great! but… that artwork :/
Should be a good week. Been thinking about getting into this game.
Lovely art! I’d love to see more, or even an artbook!
Love the mercenaries
Nice to see some of the old Rakham sculptors at it again …
I like this fluff I am not sold yet but I like what I see.
Wrath of Kings looks interesting and lore wise looks to be a drastic move away from GW type fantasy which has me really intrigued but lets see the werewolves!
Why do all the models have to look so pretty!
I have a feeling this week will give me the impetus I need to get cracking on my kickstarter models, going to have to chase down the new book though. I’m loving the art work in this video, great stuff 🙂
The lore is great, I may steal some ideas for roleplaying.
I’ve been waiting for this. I’m curious to see the demo game, but the lore is intriguing.
Interestingly, I dropped by my local retailer to pick up a model for another line, and there were a couple of people playing this at one of the tables. Goristi vs Hadross.
I’m curious if there’s going to be any repercussions for the factions who manipulate the elements. For instance, what happens if one of the elementals the mechanics have been poking and ‘stoking’ gets loose?
I have played this. Easy to understand rules. My fav has to be Shael Han!!
“Comment to win” – My favourite phrase on BoW.
The comic-style artwork is awesome!
I hope I can get my local group of folks going with this. It seems pretty awesome. Maybe it will actually motivate them to play a game.
Lovely artwork and quite intriguing world.
Totally. Whoever has conceived this artwork is purely talented and has created something that I could even see being turned into a movie of sorts. It really goes beyond the imagination of a rule book and tabletop minis.
I had initially thought that this game came out a long time ago and flopped. I think that I was mislead by how long ago it feels that the Kickstarter happened, so it made me think that the game had been out all along. I didn’t realize that it had only come out around the middle pf last year. Then I read that there were manufacturing or some other logistical problems that delayed the release schedules and probably kept stock at hand a bit lean. I commend Cool Mini or Not for really driving this game hard now that it has a chance to come out of the gates running.
I have purchased 2 faction starters so far, and let me tell you, the quality of the sculpts on these miniatures is world class. And the scale and cartoonish feeling that the miniatures bring to life from the artwork is really something else. I have yet to assemble any of my miniatures since my workbench is currently overloaded with projects, but I think this BoW event really has me considering queuing these models up to toward the top of my To Do List. Thanks for the feature week content!
Stoked about this week and a good first episode.
I’ve been interested in this game since backing for the rulebook on Kickstarter.
The book itself is lovely, well put together and full of nice art, and the ruleset seems interesting with some nice ideas.
But the main draw for me is that the factions look like no other game. Sure there are Werewolves and units with swords and shields, but the overall forces look so unique and interesting.
Some of it Ill admit is not to my taste, I know everyone loves a pigman but not me. But for sheer originality this game stands out.
If I can get one of those 2-player sets, I might be able to get people at my FLGS interested in playing.
Very cool looking game and an unusual faction
cool I looking into Wrath of Kings
…..Always loved the minis, And the Fluff is quite cool….
buy now play later ;p
Looking forward to this week
Looks interesting, all the factions have aspects that appeal. Looking forward to the faction guides to get a better feel for them.
I got the book when it first came out but was never able to find a community for the game locally. Hopefully with the new book we can get something going.
Some nice looking art. The faction background and world background sounds interesting.
This game looks very interesting.
I have several CMON board games & have been aware of wrath of kings for some time, but I think this week could be what I need to take the plunge!
Just ordered the starter box set…. I’m very impressed with the miniatures, the story line and gameplay. It steps into a very unique fantasy setting…..
Looking forward to it. Been interested in this game for a long time so excited to see deeper into it. Love these week long spotlights guys, keep them coming.
I am really looking forward to the rest of the week after this video. This game seems really awesome!
I’m buying the giant war octopus regardless. Very cool.
I like the run down. It doesn’t have as much to it as Aarklash but the stories they put up during the Kickstarter were really good.
Already play good fluff and great game.
My wallet is not prepared… was telling myself no more than two new games in 2017. one month in and already hit that…
Glad to see this and Dark Age getting more support from CMON. Looking forward to finding out more about the different factions!
Very cool minis
Such a rich and diverse world! It’s nice to see something that sets itself apart from the usual Fantasy tropes.
Lots of content, going to be a busy week.
Been enjoying the videos so far. would love to add to my Goritsi and Nasier armies.
Love seeing all the sudden hype around this game, hope to see it grow!
Not gonna lie, I imagined the armor on Hadross warrior was held on with scotch tape, had a good laugh.
These guys have nailed this game !!!!
Here’s hoping I win something. Love everything about this game.
Cool game, I backed on KS and really was surprised at how well the minis turned out. Cool background as well.
These intro videos definitely do more to generate interest than just plain articles or web pages.
I like the backstory of the world’s history and the handling of the mix of spirit and science.
I didn’t really get how the world worked before these videos. I’m much more interested in the game now.
Very good vibes concerning WoK.
A game I know nothing about, time to start learning!
Very interesting, not sure if i`ll every get to play Wrath of Kings, but you never know. As to which faction, i`d have to look into each one and take it from there.
Nice insight into the world of WoK guy`s, will be looking in to the fluff side of it.
I got to say the more videos I watch the more impressed I am with their entire operation. Good fluff, great minis, nice rules etc
Well a whole week on this Game i had been interested since saw soñé minis and a demo Game! Creativo!!
Looking forward to finding out more about each faction, the ports look amazing and the dragon building is fantastic….
Wrath of Kings is on my future list. Love style of the minis, and the lore seems interesting.
An amazing fantasy world to immerse into……
Artwork is fantastic, it is what has drawn me in. I love the in-depth history that has been created, Goristi and Shael-Han are where my tendencies are leaning at the present.
iam in love with these game its one more to add to the collections
Hmmm interesting get stuff
This game sounds very intriguing, definitely looking wlqt the wolfy vampires as a faction for me!!
I like the idea of poking elementals for power. That gives a temperamental motor a whole new meaning.
This game is really something different. World and backstory seems to be really complete. And its so cool. Is there a lot of fluff in the book? i would love to try to roleplay in this worls cause it seems so unussual.
It is an interesting world that they have created.
I like the non-standard races and background. Nice to see something other than orcs, dwarves and elves for a change
Where are you guys getting all these prizes from? Whenever you put something up for grabs I try to win it but as I don’t do I always need to buy the stuff to feel satisfied. Aaaah! Keep it up!
I really didn’t want to like this game as I’ve got so much on the go right now but damn it’s really hard not to want to start playing!
Excited about this game and make my hand on some minis!!
Game sounds and looks great!
Fun video. I am loving Nasir and Goritsi.
this should be fun
Awesome video I know what I’m doing today
I always wanted to get into this game after seeing the artwork and minis it produced. But I missed the Kickstarter back in the day. I’ve always thought the hadross were cool, all fishy and tentically.
Great game. Simple and fun system. Beautiful models and back made by awesome blokes
I love all their wolfie bits including their wolfie tail
I love the lore behind this game the 5 houses are so unique and different and all really cool
Cool video, Im loving how the houses have a reason for being so distinct, being descended from divinity. I’m loving the mythology and lore of this world, very well thought out. Nice, not your typical dwarf / orc / elf setting. Its a good way of having so many radically different cultures nearby that are developed enough without being a world away from each other.
It is great to see old Rackham Talent at work once again.
very excited about this
I’ve seen this game around for a long time. Nice to finally see the story of it.
That artwork is beautiful!
Also, I love games that feel like their setting has real depth and geography. Guess I need to explore this further after all…
Some(all) of the cities would make great table terrain.
the narrative for this game seems rely fun to dive into.
:O the Shark people look awesome
