Scibor Declare That This Is Spartaaaa!
May 16, 2012 by dracs
Scibor have expanded there range of bases sporting the theme of Spartan ruins. Now you can mount your minis up and proudly defend the Hot Gates from all attackers.
These bases do give a nice feeling of your guys fighting over the remains of a ruined civilization and would be the perfect way to make characters or even whole units stand out.
However, the appearance of the bases to me seems somewhat repetitive. You would think there would be other Spartan ruins than just the littered heads of statues.
Do any of you use Scibor's range of bases? Do you think that these bases could suit your own armies?

I think these are best for display models painted to an ultra-high standard rather than a whole squad or army – they have built-in flat areas to place minis and the sculpted parts overhang the actual bases or stand too tall for a model not to get sniped. Plus if you did just one model on one of these the repeating statues wouldn’t be an issue. I’d like to see a pre-Heresy SM leader model on one of these, could be very eye-catching.
This is Sparta!! Surely the base should be just a deep black hole 🙂
I have to agree I would only consider these for display models, very nice they are too.
Just a little to big for game use but nice over all.
‘Scibor have expanded THEIR range of bases’
Come on lads!
Not bad, I quite like their stuff and these would look nice for display bases.
Brilliant. I would love for these in 25mm. Trying to decide which of their range of bases to use for my Sanguinary Wing army at the moment. 😀
