Games Workshop Announce New Warhammer Quest: Darkwater

Games Workshop has announced that a new Warhammer Quest is on the horizon. Set within the Mortal Realms of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Darkwater will see heroes of Order facing down Nurgle foes!
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater // Games Workshop
We don't have much to go on yet but we know from the article on Warhammer Community that these adventurers are going to be delving into the depths of Jade Abbey. Within those ruins are going to be some bubo-covered enemies in the form of the servants of Nurgle.
If I were to try and work out the foes from the artwork, I would imagine we're going to be seeing (at least) new Pestigors (Nurgle Beastmen), Maggotkin Warriors, Plaguebearers, some sort of Sorcerer and perhaps a Maggotkin/Nurgle Champion or some smaller Great(ish) Unclean One.
Arrayed against them, we seem to have what seems to be three Humans and one Duardin. At the centre, we have a knight, probably a Freeguild Cavalier/Captain, flanked on the left by a Wizard/Sorcerer who can channel water magic. She could very easily also be an Aelf, as we can't see the ears. On the right of the main figure, we also have another warrior type and then further along, one of the Dispossessed as a Duardin ranger of sorts.
It will be interesting to see the distinction between the two martial characters in the set. Other Warhammer Quest games have come with many more heroes, so this might also just be a clutch of the characters you'll get to play in Darkwater.
This certainly lines up with the rumours about updates to the Dispossessed (Dwarfs) in Warhammer Age of Sigmar and some refreshes for the Maggotkin of Nurgle. I am certainly intrigued to see what they do.
Are you going to be trying out a new Warhammer Quest experience?

Very excited to see this but why not just set it in the Old World?
Fooled me once, shame on me. Trying to fool me twice, GW?
why? whats wrong with it? genuine question, i am not that informed.
Looks like good family fun. I might pick this up for those long nights in.
Yup, exactly. My kids liked Cora Quest so this will be the next step up.
I much prefer the mix of adventurers but it seems odd that the Storm Cast poster boys aren’t featured. It may be that they are going to try for something more generic to entice peole with more familiar dungeon delving tropes.
I think it’s an effort, like with Cursed City, to keep it “grim” and shift some focus to the Cities of Sigmar
Doesn’t really look very “grim” though. The baddies look grim, because, well, baddies. But the heroes don’t look very grim at all. This isn’t a bad thing by any stretch, but those heroes are definitely a departure from the AoS design language.
Pestigors finally again. It’s been a LONG time since they were around. I used to have a unit of 20 in metal!
I wish they would simply rerun the first quest – from the 90s – they won’t but they could simply relaunch the old sculpts and boxed sets and charge wherever they wanted – all.I’m sure would, like space hulk, sell
