We've got a jam-packed Weekender for you this morning where we're looking at the Conan Board Game currently on Kickstarter with Jamie Johnson and you could win yourself a copy of the King Pledge version of the game! All you have to do is watch to find out how.

We're also looking at MERCS Conflict, a dice game based on the world by Megacon Games where you take control of your favourite corporation and fight it out.

Yeah, even the base box is superb value, but the all-in level is just insane at this point.
Just adding to my first post. The hero I would play would be “Belit” Main reasons. Any woman who is the queen of the Black Coast is one tough …cookie who does not take any tripe with a grain of salt. Plus she is owns the ship Tigress. Fitting? I think so!!!

I set out to watch the weekender after a long pause, and what is the first thing I see?
Yet another example of the hobby being drained out of my hobby.

I have model buildings to paint.
“The Hobby” is a big place with lots of things to do. I think it’s a little much (perhaps even narrow minded) to expect everyone to be good at or enjoy every part of it.
We are on the cusp of a ton of technologies that will introduce lots of options and starting places for people of all skill levels.
If someone for what ever reason can’t build cool terrain themselves they should not be limited to playing on poor unimaginative gaming tables.
Also, we have a little menu at the start of the weekender so you can skip segments you are not interested in 😉
I think anything that helps people get onto the table and playing games is certainly a good thing, but at the same time, I do see where this kind of thing does stop people developing their hobby skills. For myself, terrain is fun to build BUT it’s also very time consuming, so I would certainly consider these kinds of kits, not just for ease, but also for the fact they are simply stunning.
I lack the time, talent, and inclination to make terrain. These products are aimed at me. The Hobby Lab videos are aimed at you. It’s a broad church.
Yeah the same for me, if I can buy terrain that looks cool and adds to the game I’m all for it but there’s nothing stopping me or anyone else from building their own stuff too.
I love hobby stuff, painting building etc but time is the single biggest limiting factor on what I can do. If I played Dropzone Commander fir example, I’d love these buildings because I could then lavish more of my limited time on my miniatures.
I enjoy creating and painting models from scrap materials that would otherwise end up in the bin. Yet I still love the work that 4Ground (and all the other companies) is doing. It just gives us more options to play with.
@maxxon, I can appreciate your view point, and I think @warzan and @lloyd are great example of passionate terrain makers but 4 ground offer a way to get started. There would be nothing to stop further detail and weathering. Each to their own but none of our hobbies are exactly the same, we each draw on our own mix of what we feel is the right way of doing things.
BoW caters for all, skip ahead and watch the rest it’s worth a look. Your hobby is still yours, and it never hurts to see what makes someone else’s hobby
I agree with these senitments. For me while I dearly love being able to make my own scenery etc. It also fires the imagination and really invigorates my own hobby by seeing these frankly awesome things. Even though I may not own some of the pieces it should not be forgotten that the people that create these things are generally gamers themselves and do it for the their own hobby aswell as the marketplace.
My initial reaction would be one of empathy if not total agreement with your sentiments, BUT, upon reflection (always a good watchword that one!) that ‘camaraderie’ is born out of a snobbishness and ‘bloody mindedness’ of my own making! I now believe that the hobby is stronger and better than it has ever been. Yes, it is amusing for very mature wargamers such as myself, (56 years young), when we witness, what is to the ‘nouveau riche’ in wargaming, a revelation in game mechanics, painting tips or model making advice, sometimes, not always, a bit like ‘Grandma and Eggs’. BUT, combined with the latest in technology in processes and materials, this then opens a veritable ‘Pandora’s Box’ to not only new, but also ‘mature’ gamers in the hobby. Also, if BoW were to cover every aspect of and new developments within and around the hobby, then I would estimate that they would have to work 24 hours a day and 7 days per week, in order to bring that to the attention of ALL gamers in equal measure no matter how ‘specialised’ ones interests are, then when would we find time to ‘watch and enjoy’ such offerings? I have, at times been a little scathing in my comments and feedback, but have lived to regret such ‘impatient’ rantings at leisure! Well done BoW please do not be ‘discouraged’ by the reactions of ‘minority’ group reactions to your work, and I of course, must add myself into this SAD group!!! While pre-coloured terrain may not be part of the creative side of the hobby. It still has its place for those that either don’t have the time, skill or inclination to paint it.
Just because it fills a space for these people doesn’t mean it can’t fill a space for you too. You say you have model buildings to paint..? So… Tell me again why you couldn’t paint these too..?

I would be Thulsa Doom. Look, he’s the real hero: he’s putting in all this effort to be a civilizing influence on a load of primitive screwheads. Then a random barbarian comes along and tears everything down…
I would play a sneaky thief
I would be Horribal Smyth, leader of an elite team of mercenaries that includes Space (the con-artist and serial seducer), Mad Mudrok (deranged diversion specialist and dragon pilot) and their artificer with a tremendous fear of flying, Mister C (‘Ah ain’t goin’ on no dragon with that crazy fool, Horribal’). They have helped Conan escape where even the mighty barbarian was having a spot of bother. Apparently they are known to travel in a black carriage with a red stripe.
I wasn’t initially interested in the monorail but then I heard that Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook have one….

My husband and I have finished listening to all the stories via Audio book and they are fantastic. So excited for this game. Myself personally I would love to play Belit and her crew. Love the new 4Ground stuff – amazing! Really Enjoyed the show today.

If I was a hero in the world of Conan I would be an archer/assassin style of hero. Sorry I am not that familiar with the world.
In the Conan universe I’d probably be the Berserker. Running into battle nude painted blue and high on mushrooms.
Aaaand I just realized what could be a major stretch goal for Conan: The She-Devil With A Sword herself, Red Sonja…..

Well, I would love to be a huge pictish warrior, who decided to change to a “good ” side, armed with two one handed axes, swinging my way through the battlefield with blood-thirsty growl.:-) Anyway, great interview with Jamie, he’s really great with his answers on the KS site of the game.
I think I’d end being one of the poor Picts getting hacked by Conan but maybe the Pirate Queens first “mate” would be the dream job?
I really like those 4ground buildings.Even though I dont really do fantasy any more I was thinking of buying the big inn from them, I think I may get myself a selection of these for dropzone commander instead. I dont play that either at the minute but I do have the rules and a whole PHR army to paint up so i can.
AAARRRRGGGHhhh good job guys another brill weekender which set me jaunting over to Kickstarter to back Conan! Can’t wait for this game of to the Gym from now till October (With occasional breaks) to see if I can get the Conan muscles in time for first game.

As for a character, I would be Taurus, the best thief in Zamoria. He’s a planner, he prepares each of his expeditions very carefully. He gather information on the target he intend to stole, the security, the building’s layout, the number of guards… He then get the right tools for the job. It he needs rare poison powder from remote countries that will is best to take care of wild garding lions, he’ll find some.
Then he will go by night and act with speed, precision, efficiency. And even if he usually works solo, he’ll happily accept to work with the great thief Conan, whose fighting abilities can be a great help.
For my character, I would be Rodel the Albino, greatest swordsman in the land!

Conan looks great and I already have a king pledge but if I was going to be a hero in the Conan universe I think I’d have to be Conan. He gets all the ladies, good and bad.

I would be a tracker, a barbarian with innate skills in tracking, either human bounty, or big game for food, I would be able to track and capture anything I was sent to find.
I normally cringe at the term ‘gob smacking’, I think it sounds so slovenly and cheap, but on this occasion, when Justin described the new 4Ground monorail terminal as ‘gob smackingly good’, I totally comply. Great video again guys, first class Saturday morning viewing, better than 99% of the dross on TV, Yay!!

Awesome weekender guys, I would liek to have a double sided herofor the conan game, one that could help héroes or turn against them dependng on the course of the battle, he could foldto the faction that offers him/her more resurces ore something similar.

I had a look on Amazon for the Conan books by Wandering Star, they must have gone out of print or something as the prices are pee taking, the Gollancz published stuff isn’t though.
In Conan I’d like to be an alchemist who uses his various pellets of chemicals to attack, defend or distract with smoke pellets, electric storm pellets and all manner of marvellous chemical tricks.
I would be Conan, of course.

The Conan hero has got to be Dooms captain’s moustache from the film, give that a sword and it could take on the world!
If I were to be a hero in the Conan realms, i’d probably try to be a Ladykiller. Which would probably put me in trouble. But of course, trouble would mean epic. As in a virgin kidnapped by a horrible cult angered when they dicover that the virgin will… well… not be that anymore. Or jealous warmongers who don’t like being cheated on. That’d mean lots of running, too
I would definitely love to play Pallantides (unlocked stretch goal hero), because he’s King Conan’s right-hand man and the commander of the “Black Dragons”, the elite imperial troops.
I wasn’t sold on it before but I am now. If I was a character I’d be a free roaming mercenary Black One.

Conan game looks interesting, been years since I have read the books. As for my character, it would have to be Conan, not because he is the hero but because to deny my inner barbarian would be an affront to Krom

I have to say the Conan game looks really nice,very tempted just to get the base game. I’m really becoming a fan of miniature based board games. They are so easy to set up and play, which is great especially when time and space are limited. Plus I always find they are a great way to introduce non gamers to table top games. My partner won’t play a wargame cause she thinks it’s just boys and toys, but will happily spend an evening playing a board game, but prefers the minis to be painted lol.
The detail on the monorail station is nuts. Model trains + wargames.
Conan even made it into the Discworld books – as Cohen the Barbarian. Some asked earlier what Conan might think are the best things in life. Well here is Cohen’s take on it:

Personally, I’d play a pirate character. You get to sail the seas AND machete your way through a jungle. If that’s not a verb, I now claim it to be!

I’d be a wizard hero, not unlike Akiro.
I would play a chef that hands Conan a steak to give him extra stamina. That guy’s going to need to eat very few minutes to keep strength like that. The reason the chef’s around and being in danger is he’s making a mint off of feeding Conan.
i love Adrian smith’s art work and seeing his hand in this game makes me want to go out and buy it more. In most games i would be at the back picking things off but in this game give me Conan and try to keep up with my kill count
I’m always going to play the thief. The Conan universe is the reason I play games like Skyrim as a thief character. I’d love to win this prize as right now I just can’t justify the expense of the Kickstarter. If I don’t win I’m sure I’ll pick it up at retail when I can

I think the only way to live well in the Conan world is to be an open but clever warrior like Conan himself. Anyone who back stabs or does magic comes to a messy end. So would just cut a swathe through the hordes or baddies with my battle axe.

Great video guys, first time watching “weekender video” definitely will be checking in for further adventures. Can’t wait for the Conan game, at first I was a little discouraged, for the lack of versatility of the game boards, but having been explained the fluidity of the combat system, definitely sold. Love to play the bad guys, but also like to play the emo hippy Velata, but really mostly for the sake of her pet doggy panting around and maybe play a tender death scene.
I adore the original Conan films. They are 100% bang on. Arnie _is_ Conan. Except of course when he’s The Terminator. 😎
Already in for Conan, and really chuffed that they are using the same manufacturer as Journey – those figures are great.
As for type of hero – fancy the character played by Paul Smith in Red Sonja – the Chinese styling of the armour and a dinosaur/monster thigh bone for a club – priceless.

I’d love to play Zogar Sag in Conan as a hero, just for the Beastmaster-like powers of summoning those sabertooth tigers as bodyguards. Any chance he’d defect from the overlord’s side?
I’ve played many RPG’s and have been many different types of characters so it would just depend on what kind of a mood I’m in on any given day.
I always play the barbarian dont mind if its a dungeon crarler-like game or an RPG, i think heroquest is to blame…
Conan game winner here. I’ll naturally have to be the overlord since I’ll be the only one of my group that will buy this. I hope there is a non-overlord version in the works too!
The hero I would play is of course Conan. I mean he got the whole package: milky white skin, wild ginger hair, a gangly thin body devoid of muscles and the heart shredding laughter of the Joker. 😉

Every Conan fibre of my body is screaming at me to get this game, but I lack the funds so this contest would likely be my only chance. Sigh.
I have a selection of three characters I’d like to play:
Mazdak the Hyrkanian from “Hawks Over Shem” who is a mobile, scimitar wielding warrior
Tubal the Shemite from “The Flame Knife” who is like a bearded, human battering ram
Captain Nestor from “the House of the Dead” who would play like a commander, giving buffs to other characters.
In Conan I would definitely be a thief. While I’m not one in real life, it definitely suits my personality.
I’d like to see Kerim Shah, a noble from Vendya. Reasonably good with sword but very good with a bow.
But the game is already so cool. Maybe I should just back this kickstarter…

I would become a black lotus salesman, I would carry Stygian stuff, the best, but I would also totally get rich by selling haga to random slayers.
However, after a while, there would come a time when the jewels would lose their sparkle, when the gold would lose its luster, and all I would have left is the love of a father for his child.

I can think myself as evil sorcerer who plans world domination with his dark magic and has minions all around world doing his bidding while also spreading tendrils of influence in ordrr to manipulate rulers behind scenes. So little like Saruman from LotR.
I’d be something along the lines of that cool looking necromancer guy that they showed us!

I’ll be honest, previously I wasn’t all that arsed about the Conan game (I’ve never read the books or even seen the films), hadn’t even looked at the Kickstarter. Now I’m pumped for it. Jamie should get a massive pay rise …
In the game I’d be a wily rogue, not much use in a fair fight but full of sneaky tricks.
3 things: 1) Did you get Jamie’s surname wrong? 2) Brom’s dead?! Really? Since when….. and 3) If only there were a full-on Conan RPG as well…..

4Ground, what can I say except omfg.
I’d be a young Cimmerian warrior, trying to emulate his hero, without success. A combination of Robin and xena’s Joxer who succeeds with comedic accidents which luckily lead to victory.
In Conan I would be a Stygian mage with the power to transform into a giant snake.
Love the look of the game and can’t wait to it’s release.

I would be a bowman snipping monsters at a distance the jumping in and tearing it up with just arrows and a bit of quick moves
if I was going to be a hero in the Conan universe I think I’d have to be a lithe fleet of foot, insanely handsome elf of some sort, preferably female and all the things im not lol that is unless the guys at Monolith want to add Jabba the HUtt to their universe..
Im really excited about this since the Heroquest kickstarter failed. This is a worthy successor to that awesome board game. Im Soooo excited about the undead in this box. Necomancer all the way
If I were to be a character in Conan it would be a sinister Stygian High Priest. All suave and sophisticated, with a nasty sideline in poisoned blades. Perhaps base the figure on Rufus Sewell for that hawk-like, condescending look.

That 4Ground terrain is superb. Utterly superb. I’m a good painter of miniatures but I am an utter novice at terrain so stuff like this not only saves me time but inspires me with ideas. Great to get my table up and running faster and looking stunning.
If I were in Conan I’d be a sorcerer with some telekinesis spells, hurling enemies across the room with a gesture.

4Ground just keep upping the terrain goodness with their stuff, it is simply fantastic. As to Conan, I too love the older arnie movies, they are a really great watch.
What type of hero would I be, Conan’s friend and ” right hand man “, good in the fight and always there to block the sneaky backstab as Conan wades into the scrap, then swap stories over more than a few meads ( or beers or whatever ) in a tavern.
I would be a monster hunter who has sworn an oath to protect people’s back passages from the ever-present threat of GIANT SNAKES!

You guys have really been twisting my arm to back this game with this show, I wasn’t that interested in it before and the minis didn’t drop my jaw but after all this hmmm it’s getting hard to refuse.

The hero’s I tend to play are usually rogue/ warriors…. usually I’m underestimated and I outthink my opponents…. not to bring a character from a another series into the discussion but the Grey Mouser is kind of my thing…. apprentice wizard who is a trained duelist but makes his living as a merc/ thief.
if my dice rolling is anything to go by I would have to the unsung hero that takes one for the team true red shirt trekkie syndrome 🙂

I have been watching the Conan game for a while now and it really looks awesome. As Howard was one of my early reads I would probably just stick with Conan, Maybe Conan the Berserk with a Norse twist 🙂 . As good as this game looks I would like to see Monilth do a Solomon Kane game next.

The hero I would play would be a Hero that is not there yet , something like a cursed warrior with after a few rounds of playing it will turn in to some kind of Werewolf or some lycanthrope beast witch will make him a total different character to play and when it will be in is Beast form it will have a 50% chance to attack is own band in the same area , so i think it could be awsome to get a character like that 🙂

Conan really looks great. I think I would be the brooding thinker type hero.
If I were to be a conan hero I would be the drunken lardbelly who defeats enemies more by random chance than any real martial ability, after all we “need” some comic relief at some point.

Should also point out I am already a backer of the game. With Dungeon saga as well it won’t be long before I get my retro heroquest fix. However I always enjoyed Space Crusade more and I find it surprising with so much sci-fi stuff cropping up nobody seems to be developing/touting a board game with similar mechanics

I would be a Northerner beast master. With a variety of animal companions to pick from, but only pick one for each game. That way it’s a very mutable character who is more of a Jack of all trades, master of very little. But still very interesting.

Great weekender, was great to see someone so passionate about there game, will definitely br looking for the books. Know rhr films but not much of the main history. Can recomend the Michael Moorcock Elric series and also the Fritz Leiber Fafhrd and the Gey Mouser fantasy books if you like that sort of thing. . If I was in the Conan universe I would be the Evil skull helmeted overlord villager pillager 😉

Conan looks really awesome! In the last couple of days I brushed aside the idea of kickstarting the game because I thought its just “another dungeon crawler game”. Now I’m starting to see that its not and there’s more hobby aspect in the game than just “hacking and slashing monsters”. In fact, I’m gonna hunt down those novels very soon.
If I’m playing Conan, I’d like to play a character that is hard to predict: maybe a hunter who is good with a bow and a master in an art of setting various kinds of traps. I think it would be fun to play some kind of a “mind game” with the game master while he/she tries to figure out what kind of trap did I just put down in the map.
I’d like to play as Kern the Wolf Eye from the novels. The artwork done for him by Justin Sweet is awesome.
Oh how I would LOVE to win that Conan King Pledge. What kind of Hero would I be? I tend to like to play either Rogue/Assassin or Necromancer/Palemaster types. Hmm, if I were a character in the world of Conan, I’d be Conan’s sidekick: you know, the ones that last for a few pages in each story and then get killed, fueling Conan’s current quest for revenge. Or I’d be the king of Aquilonia.
I hope we get to see Zenobia (Xenobia?) sometime in the game-the only woman Conan ever marries. And, of course, Conn, their son. (Not sure if Howard wrote those stories, though.)
And after the fervor for Conan wanes, how about some more Howard in the form of Solomon Kane? That series started a whole niche for monster/demon hunting and would be a great source of miniatures. I have to say, the mercenary version of Conan is awesome: the veins bulging are something a lot of sculptors seem to forget on someone that “pumped up.”
This show is amazing, I love every moments. In Connan’s word I would like a Cimmerian mercenary with some heavy armor and two mighty axe. And on behalf of Crom I will seek the giant snake and cut off its head.
I’m not sure that I’ve been convinced by the game, but I’m going to check out the Conan books now at least.

What an excellent show! I loved the 4Ground buildings, and the Conan game DEMANDS a pledge! Would be awesome to win, but I can’t take a chance on letting a copy slip by so I had to do a pledge myself.
This board game looks amazing! The detail on the miniatures looks superb, the components are all super high quality, the artwork looks amazing, and then there is the detailed game boards. What more could you ask for in tabletop game.
All the hero sculptures look fantastic, but I am most excited to play as Pallantides. The action pose of the miniature getting ready to cleave his enemies in half really makes him stand out from the more common static poses. Although playing as the heroes can be great, I have always enjoyed playing these HeroQuest type games as the “bad guy.” What could be more satisfying then eating the last hero with a giant snake?

I had dismissed Conan out of hand because I already had some similar games working their way through the kickstarter pipeline to me but seeing someone genuinely excited about a product always makes me want to invest – it’s also why I try and avoid watching demo games with Warren playing, he’s just always so enthusiastic about everything!

That Conan game look’s ace, the 4 ground buildings are amazing 2 I like the smaller split roof building reminded me of the Ghostbusters HQ for some reason. MERCS game looks interesting as well.

I have to admit that I never was the biggest Conan fan. Something about the feel of the movies always rubbed me the wrong way (or maybe it was just shabby 80’s lighting), but this game looks really cool. The models are great and the artwork is superb. Really looking forward to playing it one day. I think I would like to play Zelata the witch most of all. Why? As if a giant pet wolf isn’t enough of a reason.

I am really excited by the look and feel of the game. I am leaning towards Hadrathus, as the wizard has always appealed to me most in fantasy.
I know this is more general Sword and Sorcery as opposed to just Conan, but it would be fun to see if other characters from other well known stories could be introduced in a manner to be able to see how they play with or against each other, i.e. Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser, etc.

the 4Ground buildings are stunning! I’ve been wargaming for nearly 3 decades now, and I would love to have time for more terrain building, but the problem I have is … too many games! I adore Dropzone Commander! But I adore Warhammer Fantasy! Oooh, and lets get in some Infinity … I simply don’t have time to specialize into one line and go full bore any more. Having products like these that are pre-done, yet allowing me to “hobby up” as I see fit is perfect. I love it, and I think 4Ground’s win for 2014 Accessories was well deserved.
That being said – daddy is looking forward to Conan! The figures look amazing, and I love the RPG integration into the game. Well done! For me, I want to play the Overlord, and I must admit to being addicted to spiders. Having some sort of evil spider lord character would be perfect for me, whether it fits into cannon or not. Daddy needs a big spider! Or six!!

I think I would be someone like Shevatas – using cunning and agility rather than brute force and muscles. The real combat power comes from escaping the biggest dangers in a subtle way. And mocking the enemy at the same time ads its flavor. Congrats!

The stealthy scoundrel has always appealed to me, so I was keen on backing another oriental miniatures game with ninja protagonists on Kickstarter, but unfortunately there wasn’t any mention of expansions… Conan looks like it’s shaping up to be a fantastic scenario based game and I have a feeling that the expansions will be amazing too.

I would be the character in Conan who no-one is too sure about; the one no-one quite knows what they do; the one who is slight but decisive. I don’t know if there is such a character in Conan but that’s who i’d be if there is such a character. I am being won over to this game even though i’m quite happy with square or hexagonal grids, and even though i know very little about Conan. It simply sounds like this game is going to be extremely well made from top to bottom.
as an aspiring camera man, I’m pretty sure I would be a war scribe. writing those battles down on some parchment! Hell yeah! Doesn’t that sound exciting?!………
If you are potentially going to have a number of expert painters on board i have a suggestion. I think it might be interesting to give them all a model to paint, that is the same model, and then to have them sit down together and discuss their different approaches. You could allow them free rein, in which case i think the discussion would contain more by way of the aesthetic choices they made. Alternatively you could give them limits.such as ‘this bike needs to look as though it is made of metal that has a dull sheen’, in which case i think the discussion would tend towards technique. In the latter alternative, whereby you’re setting limits, you could even use photos and say ‘this metal / skin / leather / whatever needs to look like this metal / skin / leather / whatever in the photo.

It would be pretty cool that have a character that is like a king of thieves, a support character that has a few henchmen that all to debilitating stuff.
If I was a hero I would play Thulsa Doom! Game looks cool and bad guys the most fun. 😀
I want to play The Conan as Necromancer
This. This is the board game I’ve wanted for so very long, a mechanically-interesting adventure in my favorite low-fantasy setting.
I’d probably go for either Olgerd Vladislav on name alone, or if I was feeling nostalgic for my time with the Age of Conan MMO, I’d give Pallantides a go.
I would like to play young Conan as he starts his training and make it a campaign like setting.
Oh my! love that Conan kickstarter. As for the answer for the question: I would like to be a sneaking thief, one have to be ruthless, fast and wise enough to survive in a world of big swords.
The buildings on the first segment of the show are superb! I will visit the 4Ground website and the Hawk Wargames site also has some free downloadable buildings! Great!

Wow, great show, normally I read the messages but at 13 pages naa! This will probably no reach the BoW team, but fantastic as usual. Love 4Ground products ( artistry) and Jamie’s enthusiasm sold the game to me ( if only I had someone to play it with!) if I win the game I will be reaching out though the community for a player!

My favorite character has always been Conan of course but after him I’ve always like the character of Kubotay (dunno if I’m spelling it right) the Thief and Archer from the first movie his first friend that he meets before meeting Valeria.
He’s as loyal as they can be and the line that “He cries for Conan because Conan won’t cry it’s awesome”.

The “hero” in Hyboria I would want to play as would be Atali, The Frost-Giant’s Daughter because it was the first Robert E Howard novel I ever read.
The only character classes that i have played up till now are either warrior or barbarian. I like the style of charging in and slash everything to pieces. So i would definitely play Conan 😉

If I was a character in Conan I would have to be a big burly drunken ruffian. i would have no particular special abilities but i would just throw empty wine glasses and turkey bones at people as they fight near me
In Conan, I would be a pirate-hero, sailing the sea with the Sea Wolves.
I have felt in love with that Conan game… really excited about the idea of returning to my 10 y.o., when I voraciously read every Conan page I could get my little hands on. If I had to choose a Conan character to portrait, I would choose FAFNIR, the redbearded giant vanir. I have always been really amazed with this character because he was even bigger than Conan! And their friendship is also special: Vanir and cimmerians are natural enemies, but their uprightness is so strong they finally see the person behind the enemy.

I would probably play a Brute style hero (possibly Conan-esque) for my first outing and move into a more Supportive Role once I was more comfortable with the mechanics.

Oh, and for a character, I would be Azesh-Kutran, an outcast stygian priest, exiled for a forbidden love. He’s bitter and tries to escape his past with liquor and fornication. When sober, he earns his living as a bounty hunter.
In the world of Conan I would be an agile swordsman for hire, travelling from adventure to adventure.
Conan character would be a rich bad guy who pays minions to do his work. Or Belits gimp….

Picking a hero to play in the world of Conan is tough because I usually shy away from playing namesake or centerpiece characters. However in this case, and due in no small part to the mini, I would have to go with pure, unadulterated Conan.
I would love to play as a highly dexterous thief because that’s exactly what I am not. At all. Not even close.

Lots of excitement around the Conan board game. It looks great so far. I pledged in within the first two minutes and still didn’t get one of the early bird pledge levels.

What hero would I be? Hmmn… Tough question. It’s been a while since I read all the stories. [Most of which are online at the Gutenberg Australia website] Another thief who made a brief appearance as a side-kick/rival in the stories before dying is Taurus of Nemedia (Tower of the Elephant). Seeing what they have done with Shevatas, I’d be interested in seeing Taurus’ character expanded upon. I’d love to play his ability to use the black lotus sleeping powder.

I love thief/rogue/pirate types, so if I was in the game I’d have to go with someone similar to Saïd Taghmaoui’s character in the 2011 reboot, Ela-Shan…I’m thinking very “Prince of Persia”-esque with punch daggers or kopesh style swords when things get hectic. A real whirling dervish!
Another great weekended, like always. I am a little disappointed that the Conan game does not have a solo play option. I understand the point about game AIs not being the same as a real person, but there are times I want to play, but have no one to play with. In my opinion, putting an AI option in would not have hurt the rest of the game. However, the game still looks great.
Wow, a show packed full of goodies. The fab buildings that I would love to play with when I finally change my mind about 10mm scale. And Conan one of my favourite comic books when I was a child and some good reading of Howard later in my life. The show got me interested in it once again. Models for the game look great. I already fell in love with some of them. Ah yes, I will not be Conan but I would be Thoth-Amon.
I’d be the quiet brooding hero who is more content by himself but is the first to take up arms in defense of friends and allies. I would be susceptible to battle rages but with a focused determination of exterminating all enemies with a quick yet brutal efficiancy.

I first thought was to be a Styian witch or warlock that follows Set with the goal to totally corrupt for my dark lords will and I think I would have to be a Khitai general with hordes of horse warriors around me raiding to the west. laying waste to the people and lands that I see

The hero I’d like to play in the Conan universe is Shevatas…even if he did die in the demo game.
I’d be the younger, more sane(ish) magic user adventuring with Conan in order to ride along as he kills the crazed old sorcerer so that I could step into the role of sorcerer until I became old and crazed enough for another hero and young magic user to come visit me!
I’d like to give it a go as Conan in his mercenary guise. Perhaps with a Stygian wizard along for the ride.

Love the interview. Sold me on the game. You guys were just way to excited about the game for me not to get the fever. Hope to be playing Conan but I think being the evil overlord is going to be just as fun.

If I was a hero in Conan I think I’d be a former pirate turned into a hedonistic letch of a man who has turned to mostly drinking and lazing around. This man would be a very overweight fellow who is just horrible to look at but he has a silver tongue and sharp wit. He’d be lightly armored and carry around a basic sword (which he wouldn’t use) much preferring things of a more improvised nature.. like a chair’s leg or a simple branch or cutlery. Deep down he would be heroic while putting on this appearance of a drunkard obese blobby man who seems to have no cares in the world.
Great episode, especially the interview with Jamie. Was on the fence about the game before, but fully looking forward to playing it now.

If I got to choose I would be Bêlit, if I was female, with a glorious crew taking what I want and being sexy in the process. Balthus with my trusty buddy Slasher, if I was male, since having a man’s best friend that is quite lethal is always a plus.
Even though Conan would not approve, I love Howard’s sorcerers. They are dark, enigmatic and often summon horrors and abominations from Lovecraftian planes. The fact that these authors were contemporaries is awesome. Super excited about this game; kudos Monolith!

Not sure what type of character I’d be in the Conan universe, I hope it would be one who enjoys the finer things in life like being able “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the laminations of their women!”…. but I’d probably end up playing a thief.
