Blogging At This Event:
Warlord Games: Bolt Action, Judge Dredd & EPIC Battles The American Civil War
John catches up with Warlord Games and asks them about what they have been up to recently.
They dive into some chats about Bolt Action, a bit of Judge Dredd and also their impressive EPIC Battles which drops you right into the middle of the action during the American Civil War.
Bring your Family to the Coiledspring Let's Play Zone
Coiledspring Games have set up a fantastic area to allow families to get together, spend some time in a rich and fun atmosphere and play some family-centric games – named the Coiledspring Let’s Play Zone.
The Coiledspring staff are there to help too, guiding families through games and lending a helping hand. And if you are at UKGE this weekend, there are no fees involved. So if you are looking to settle down with your family, be sure to settle down for some quality time.
Critit - Dice Of Every Colour To Match Any Adventure!
From D6s to D20s – For those who are on the hunt for some new dice at UKGE, be sure to check out Critit – a UK Based Dice Store. As on their booth, there are dice of every colour along with some very special gemstone ones too!
Justin has magpied his way over to the Critit booth, to show all you guys at home the broad range of dice they have to offer.
Who are the Big Names at UKGE 2021?
I am sure that everybody will be heading out to UKGE to see many of the big-name publishers, to get a play of their biggest titles that are out there on the board game scene.
Fantasy Flight Games, Days of Wonder and Z-Man Games have tables already and set out, for board game players to immerse themselves in their most popular titles before buying. Plus there are some incredible deals and discounts on their booths!
If you are attending UKGE this weekend, be sure to settle yourself at one of the publishers – especially if you have been tempted by the likes of Marvel Champions, Ticket to Ride and Stuffed Fables. So you can try before you buy.
Unlucky Archers: Get Into Some Family Dungeon Delving With Unlucky Adventurers!
Ben has approached an indie publisher, launching their very first card game coming to the tabletop. Unlucky Archers are debuting their game Unlucky Adventurers.
Utilise dice and cards and attempt to eliminate your opponents – whilst trying to hold on to as many cards as possible, themed in a fantasy universe.
If you would like to give the game a go, the Unlucky Archers team will be holding demonstrations for the whole weekend, along with many demos. So be sure to take a look.
UKGE Official Kids Roleplaying Zone #UKGE2021
One of the great bits of this event is the fact that everyone, regardless of age, can get stuck into some tabletop games. The Kids Roleplaying Zone is perfect for that.
Within the Kids Roleplaying Zone, the kids can sit down and play some fun games. Sessions are short and allow them to dive into the wonderful world of roleplaying for the first time.
Naylor Games: James Talks Boardgames, The Boardgame, The Card Game + Magnate!
James Naylor of Naylor Games talks through two of his games. The first of these games is Boardgames The Boardgame, The Card Game which is a fascinating look at the industry as a whole.
The second game is coming to the tabletop very soon. Magnate is a fantastic game of building and buisness in the city. Thankfully, with less risk…
See You Tomorrow! UK Games Expo Day One Wrap-Up!
We’re wrapping things up here for the day as part of the UK Games Expo 2021. Justin is feeling hungry so he’s going to be going to get some grub!
We hope you’ve enjoyed the first day of coverage and we will be back to do more across Saturday and Sunday. Make sure you check out all of the Friday Live Blog and we’ll see you soon!

First expo for a few years I haven’t attended.
With the pandemic and what looks to be a lighter schedule of exhibitors – I just didn’t see the point.
Missing it though
It’s sounding good have you guy’s got a car big enough for all of your Shiny Shinyness?
So good to see you back at shows!
I’m looking forward to all the content ?
I’ll hopefully see you all there tomorrow, I may even break out my OTT hat from 2019!
Expo organisers were very indecisive about the restrictions, so I skipped it this year. Hopefully the world will be normal-ish next year.
Can I just say that @lloyd did a bang good job for the stream looping animation! Nice mate.
wish i was there
Can’t get over the fact that Ben has legs.
Looking forward to this weekend. I’ll be lurking all weekend!
Highlight of the day Justin wondering around in vambraces he bought doing interviews like that is completely normal.
Game of the day was Hit the Silk. I love the creative concept behind that. It is the sort of game you come up with on a Friday night after a few pints.
Unlike previous years, there’s nothing leapt out and said “Buy me!”
