Hawk Wargames At UK Games Expo
May 31, 2017 by lancorz
Dave has joined us in the studio to discuss what's happening with Hawk Wargames at UK Games Expo.
This year at UKGE you will be able to build your own space station for an awesome prize during the event, paint with the best with their in-hour guides, learn how Dave makes his models for Dropzone & Dropfleet Commander and of course, see the giant itself at the last ever show it will be brought to.
Make sure to pop in with Dave and the Hawk Wargames booth at UK Games Expo this week!
Will you be visiting them at the UK Games Expo?
Oooh! First post!
Thanks Justin/Dave for update, seminar soundd good on Sunday.
I am looking forward to this weekend, lots of Dropzone and Dropfleet stuff:-)
Will definitely visit the Hawk booth. Spent about fifty notes there last year. If there are any new models for Dropzone I can only imagine it’ll be more this time π
So I’m just gonna ask what I know everyone is thinking.
When will the production version of the 10mm scale Avenger be available? π
lol … and while we’re at it : which insanely detailed model is going to replace it ?
the ship looks fantastic, the new ships gun is a beast.
ty for the update π !!
great to see Dropzone/Fleet universe keeps on evolving… looking forward to the next storyline advancement π Dave, can’t you give us even a small hint of what is to come π ?
I made the mistake of backing Hawk Wargames Dropfleet Commander Kickstarter. Eight months have passed since Hawk Wargames started shipping pledges to backers in September 2016. I waited patiently for my pledge to ship. It never did.
I contacted Hawk Wargames at the beginning of April and they undertook to ship my pledge. Two months later and my pledge has still not shipped.
During the Kickstarter Campaign Hawk Wargames undertook to ship to backers before shipping to retail. They broke that promise. The game has been in retail for months. The focus of Hawk Wargames appears to have shifted to retail and game conventions.
The Kickstarter campaign ended in December 2015. I’ve paid Hawk Wargames Β£245.00 + Β£10 postage and I have not received a single thing from my pledge. I live in New Zealand so that works out to be an awful lot of money. I’ve asked them repeatedly to either ship my pledge or provide me with a refund. They keep saying they will ship my pledge but have not.
They refuse to provide me with a refund yet they advertise on their website that if any customer is dissatisfied they will provide a refund. Despite talking about how committed they were to building and supporting the community Hawk Wargames abandoned the Kickstarter comments forum. They have taken no proactive action to identify backers who have not been shipped their pledge. Backers, such as myself, have been forced to repeatedly contact Hawk Wargames.
I thought I was safe backing an established Company. I believed the undertakings they made to backers during the Kickstarter campaign. Unfortunately, things have not turned out the way I hoped. The Company has had no issue shipping to retailers across the world and organising to attend gaming shows and tournaments. Yet Hawk Wargames has taken no action to date to ship my pledge or refund me.
In my experience Hawk Wargames is not a Company that can be relied upon to meet its commitments. An honest ethical business, which operates with integrity, owns it’s mistakes and quickly moves to rectify them. No so Hawk Wargames.
It’s gotten to the point where I have demanded a refund. I don’t want the continued stress of dealing with Hawk Wargames. I certainly don’t have any interest playing the game of a company that has treated me in such a way.ο»Ώ
UK Games Expo was great, the tournament was very enjoyable. It really is a shame that there are still people waiting for there pledges though. π
