More armor IS better!
Germany. it is obviously Germany. spensive, but bettah!
Hang on!! Justin didn’t know what Top Trumps is?!?!
@olliep – What you need to understand is Justin is a 90s baby trapped in an 80s baby body 🙂
LMAO 🙂
I know he has issues with films/cartoons from our era @lloyd, but Top Trumps is universal 🙂
Not surprised
I wonder will they do the same for ‘Tanks’?
Nice little sideline to the game itself.
Get to the flanks!
So what’s best? I think the best armour is the one that wins the day. No stats can tell.
And well… having a low or narrow profile is by far better than being a big chunk of metal unable to conceal behind a small ridge or hill.
I do like my Leopards but I assume a T-72 would be a very tough nut to crack.
M109’s are the bomb, so need to get some of these
Next time you have to ‘4+’ a rule, don’t roll dice play a round of Team Yankee Top Trumps.
Until I played Tanks earlier this month, I had never used stat cards for a wargame. Suffice to say, between Tanks and x-wing, I’m throughly converted to their usefulness in a game. Very of the old school over here, that of using data sheets, army books and summary pages. But having a few cards in front of you that have all the info you need, when you’ve learnt the rules to a game, suddenly your gaming case/bag/car boot is a lot lighter for not having thick tomes of words.
The detail and pictures put into the Leopard book are beautiful.
As they have the best mix of Skill-Morale-Vehicle Stats I would say that the WG have the best armour for now. Hope that as they progress the story they will introduce some newer Soviet Tanks to face off NATO shining toys….
So many train journeys as a kid spent playing Top Trump (and Combat Cards).
Used to love Top Trumps back when I was a kid.
Got to be Soviet, quantity has a quality of it’s own after all right?
T-72 is the best of course! No silly overpriced capitalist product is macth for it!
“Quantity of Quality” 😛
Great comparison and discussion between the various factions, I’m leaning towards the West Germans right because they are new and shiny, but I think things will change when we see newer vehicles added to the US, Bradley anyone or dare i say Apache!
Badass stuff
During this battle the W Germans obviously, but if those Hinds had been kept at distance and firing flank shots on the Leopards from earlier the whole game could have been different. But then again so could this game with just different dice rolls. LOL
Can this be expanded to team Yankee fortnight
Fun little game within a game.
Very cool idea ^^
Looks like a fun little diversion.
For anyone interested, IRL the Leopard recently won a NATO tank-combat competition during exercises.
1st Germany in A6 model Leopard, 2nd Denmark and 3rd Poland in older A5 model Leopard
– all placed above the US in their M1A2.

That’s a great way to get extra play of these kits. Nice one.
Loving team Yankee week.
East is a beast, but West is best!
Really love the Abrahams!
That’s a funny way of presenting units. I just miss John waxing lyrical about some of the awesome stats.
This is a funny little game
I wouldn’t want to throw down against Challengers.
That was a funny video.
Also never heard of top trumps before. must never have made into my country
A great idea.
Great Britain…
I’d always pick German Armour of all the choices. The Leopard 2 is just such a great looking tank. Also, I’m sure you’ve all see the video of the stabalisation system on the main gun of a Leopard 2, but if you haven’t here’s a link:

Maybe the guy`s over at FoW should look into doing some card games for there “Team Yankee” game`s, and using the design of the stat card`s they have now (it means i can add them to my TT set`s i already have).
Beside`s it not about who has the best “Armoured Unit`s” in Team Yankee, it`s down to the dice god`s……………….What is this Armour you speak of, a 1 will be rolled, i have commanded it and it shall be.
Great Team Yankee week guy`s, pity it has to end.
Can you get the cards a separate package, in case you lose or damage the cards that come with the models?
Nice little side game!
Abrams for the win
It’s not the size of your gun that matters, but how you use it 😉
Awesome stuff
Nice twist on the game week!.
Interesting card game.
Trump cards seems pretty fun, though I’ve never heard of it in the US. I’ll have to bring it up at the next game night at my FLGS.
Lol remember top trumps from youth. The leopard 2’s are great, though looking at the batrep they seem quite vulnerable when they get hit by the Russian swarms.
Well this is interesting. A new card game to look in to.
Fun video. Cheers guys
Leopard is a great kit
Two games in one. Cool.
TANKS!!!!!!!
Hope they also bring in the next generations of these tanks
The top trump pathway was noted to have been sadly ignored by the Chilcot Inquiry…
Loving the content this week
Interesting look at how the points will balance the game.
Very fun little video! Love the way that this format compares the real life vehicles to each other, but also their game aspects. I think this would also fit in other themed weeks, comparing stats of models with each other.
Well that was a bizzarre twist?????
Fun little diversion, think Germany is strongest
leopard is best
Germans FTW!
I thought the point of the T-72’s weight, was to reduce the overall weight? Hence replacing the loader with an auto-loader.
Leopard hands down
Clever use of the stat cards. Fun video while i paint away some T-72s.
Commenting to win, good luck all.
More Tanks are always better
arty arty arty!!! m109 is king of battle
Really fun show. It’s nice to be remembered of the old times when I called a battleships to trumps my own. I think that US aircraft carrier won on every category bar speed.
An amusing way of looking at the different units in the game!
All armoured vehicles have to balance defence, speed and attack ability. Then there is the need for reliability and ease of production. So there is seldom one vehicle that will win in every department. You just have to play to the vehicle’s strengths. The same applied in every Top Trumps card game.
We played top trumps as kids. It was awesome. Exspecially that most of the time we had no idea, what certain stats were.
Loving the coverage BOW! So tempted to invest in this! Any news on new factions? Will we see Brits?
I love the idea of having unit cards for this game- It just seems so much easier rather than constantly flicking through a rulebook..
Watching all these vids is making me want to play FOW in general – such a great game which is fast paced and gives you a solid result in a good amount of time..
I’ve got loads of top trumps, might fun to pull out the team yankee ones only to try it out.
The Germans have the best armor because they have th most options available
Stat cards make it so much better. The worst part of FoW is making army lists. I have pretty much made my own stat cards on 3×5 index cards just to save time on army construction.
Love the Top Trump game. lol
