@torros : something being around for years rarely matters when the lawyers & beancounters get their wishes granted.

The attitude towards fan-based support for games (alive or ‘dead’) varies by company.
Some are ruthless and will exterminate any attempt (Nintendo is one of those).
Others are more forgiving.

I’m guessing that ‘old’ GW never got around to pursue the matter.
Meanwhile ‘new’ GM doesn’t appear to be the *beep* towards fan based projects.
