I stopped playing 40K because the group I was with playing regularly were win at all costs types, no fluff, no fun, just win. I changed up my tactics and lists repeatedly but all that did was give them more exp with their lists and ability to do well at tourneys. It got so very dull for me. I sold most of my armies for it and moved to X-Wing
I stopped playing X-Wing when I realised that I would have to buy into a 3rd faction just to have 2 or 3 cards that would be good at tourneys for a while. I enjoyed X-Wing, it was great. I spent loads, travelled loads, met loads of people, got into a new gaming group, made some quality friends and had loads of fun. I left because again, it got boring playing win at all cost lists that was not about flying or ‘realistic’ squadrons etc. It lost its way, its core appeal to me. I sold all my X-Wing, it also was affected by Imperial Assault
I played Imperial Assault because with my new Star Wars friends we were trying it out together. we loved the campaign (even if it made us hate the game and each other) it was great. On top of that it got me back into painting, I rediscovered talents id forgotten about and made time in my life to have my chill out painting sessions. I still have all my IA and still play in tourneys and enjoy it immensely.
I got the Walking Dead All Out War because BOW hate me having money. I got it all, I got loads of terrain and played it for 2 months solidly. It is the most fluffy game I’ve played and is so very very cool. Sadly my Star Wars painting came ahead of this game so most is still grey and boring looking. I rarely play this now but still enjoy it when I do.
Legion…I got into legion because… reasons. I don’t know, I enjoy it though and manage to paint it all aswell! I will probably sell it all when the time comes as it is a war-game rather than a ‘family’ (ish) boardgame
