Hey @all just checking in briefly before disappearing to bed.
@biggabum indeed. Vanilla Ice never gets old 😛 Harley in hand yet?
@mage base coated joker is coming along nicely. Re the wraiths how bright were you looking at taking them? Are you thinking of shading the base colour up towards white or using a blue-green or even a yellow? I had some success doing an overbrush with the GW verdigreen technical paint (Sorry don’t remember the name – was it nihilakh oxide?). Don’t know if it would work with these ones – for some reason taking the highlight up towards more of a yellow seems like it could be fun. Or terribly frustrating and tedious? Sorry I get those two mixed up all the time… Liking your son’s hobby project – classic Red vs blue 🙂
@commodorerob sounds a convincing argument 🙂 Especially as half my X-wing stuff is still in the shrink wrap… Plus I do like Warlord as a company, which counts for something…
@sundancer damn, remember when that was released… now I feel old too… Then again I remember being excited when PE’s Apocalypse ’91 was going to be released too, so really showing my age… Regrettably my knowledge of Pratchett extends only as far as Good Omens and Wee Free Men. My Girlfriend is fluent though…
@torros nice to hear that cinema is a globally supported industry. I suppose the spectacular local scenery doesn’t really hurt… I know where you are coming from on automatic price comparisons for minis – I mentally work in a 25 to 50% gross up for intellectual property and still end up coming up short half the time…
@woldenspoons post away! We are easily amused by fascinating shapes and simple colours ;-P Seriously though it’s all about the journey here. Happy to see progress shots, even it it’s just pulling the shrink wrap off of your latest acquisition.
@tuffyears love the cars! And the work on the windscreens, very nice stuff.
@dawfydd hope work settles down for you. Also hope the monitor corrects itself. have you tried pulling out and reinstalling the video card? Mine tends to get out of alignment when my PC gets hot (which might be topical for a lot of northern hemisphere thread participants).
@limburger OK 40 degrees does count as properly hot, especially if you are not used to it. Is the temperature dipping in the evening? I know on nights where it doesn’t cool below say the mid thirties sleep can be a real killer. If that happens, pro tip form someone who lives through it every summer – get some plastic water bottles, fill them mostly full and put them in your freezer in the morning. When you retire for the evening take them out, wrap a tea towel around them and put them in the bed – think a hot water bottle in reverse. Also a cheap fan will work wonders 🙂
@a27cromwell never tried to build in 1/48 – Is that the scale that dragon kits come in? Ever given that scale a shot? I used to do either 1/35 or 1/72 as a kid (with limited success), haven’t finished a model kit in ages…
OK going to retire with the Astra Miliatrum codex and try to get inspiration levels up for Kill Team tinkering. Still plugging away at terrain, will post a shot tomorrow (putting camera near my keys so I won’t forget tomorrow morning…).
