Ok coming to this discussion a bit late, but better late than never … Right?
Anyway my two pence worth.
1. Do I like price rises not really, but they are a part of life.
2. Would I support a price rise for backstage. Certainly would, infact I recall talking about this at one of the early Bootcamps saying I would happily pay a fiver that was three years ago. Now I would pay more.
3. The subs for my local club is £5/6 a session (depends on the hall we use) which whilst great it is basically to cover the hall hire and the tea and coffee, and that is just a 5 hour gaming session. There is more gaming and hobby content than that a month from BoW.
4. Before I found Beasts of war I regularly was spending £10-15 a month on hobby magazines, now it’s very rare I buy any hobby magazines because I get more up-to-date info online mainly from BoW. So all in all I have actually saved money.
5. Personally I could afford to pay £10 per month but this I would say is not within everyone’s pocket so I would say a rise to £5-£7 would be suitable.
Also I would say that one way we can all help is to volunteer to support BoW in other ways like many members do, build the community, help out with content be proactive its really rewarding.
I love being part of the BoW/OTT community, it is the best online community out there and I have made some fantastic friends as a result it’s so much more than just a hobby community 🙂
