3. Are bespoke miniatures your thing or do you prefer large quantities of homothetic plastic minis? That is, if you had credit for a big online miniatures store, would you prefer to use it for a few low-quantity run miniatures form a small manufacturer, or a higher number of plastic miniatures from a larger manufacturer? No right or wrong answers, just keen to hear people’s thoughts.

This get’s the best answer ever: It depends.

Let’s say none of the manufactures have behaved like Dicks (Dick is a bad Person, hence capital D) in the past or had work conditions like a sweatshop in the clothing or shoe industry then I would go with the models I like. Is the model of “lower quality” but I love the sculpt? I’ll get that one. Have they similar sculpts of *insert generic troop type* I’ll go with higher quality. Are they for mass army games I’ll go for variation and mix and match. Is it for skirmisher or hero game I take the best looking, fines cast single miniature.

I even have a somewhat current example. I still need a 2nd Troll for my Blood Bowl Goblins and I’d love the classic GW Troll with the big nose but those are hard to come by. And most other Trolls I have found so far are either drop dead ugly (like the current GW BB Troll) or way to expensive since shipping adds 50 – 80% of Costs.

If you will excuse me now, we have our annual Games Day Weekend here in Oldenburg (Oldenburger Spielertage) and I have games to play, tournaments to watch and unhealthy but tasty food to eat. (Yes I’ll take pictures for you lot) If you wan’t to see some really OLD pictures from past Games Day Weekends go here please: KLONK ME I’M A DING (But be prepared for some very old digital fotos)
