C) Taking the shortcut through the nearby Spearwood Forrest would make the most since. It would shorten the time needed to deliver the package and possibly allow for enjoying ‘elevensies’. The decision was made, Spearwood Forrest it would be.

Aproaching the fork in the road that would take him to the Spearwood he took stock of the last time he had walked there. It was Summer and the trees were in full leaf. The paths through the forest were heavily shadowed then by all the follage. Now in winter there should surely be more light to see by with the branches all bare.

Sammage drew a breath and stepped forward down the path towards the woods. Within the quarter hour he stood before the forrest. Spearwood was different in appearance now. It almost looked evil. He shook himself, now mad at his momentary lack of courage. “It’s just a large bunch of leafless trees”.

He place one foot forward, then the other. “That’s the way Sammage. Courage up and chin to boot”. He was right, the path had more light on it than his summertime passage. He traveled for thirty minutes and guessed that he had saved himself at least an hour and a half of travel time by not going the long way around. Proud of his choice to cut through the woods he followed the path for a couple of more minutes then came to another fork. “I don’t remember a fork being here”, he said to himself. He paused, what to do now?

A) Take the left path, surely that heads back toward the forrest edge.

B) Take the right path. Further in might save even more time!

C) Stop for ‘elevensies’. Taking this path was after all inspired by the chance to partake in a fine properly established mealtime!

D) Go back. This fork wasn’t here before and surely this was the sign of the beginning of an adventure. Not a thing good hobbits did willingly.
