@wolf320f – that’s a nice idea; paint a mini for someone else – maybe one for next time? Of course, I love the idea of a mini swap, as I’ve a pile of lead and plastic and sometimes it’s quite cathartic to admit that some of it is never going to get painted, and pass it on.
Equally, I never seem to find enough time to paint the minis I have – but given that I only ever get anything done when working to a deadline, there’s never any pressure to actually paint anything when I do get a few hours spare.
The idea of painting for someone else – maybe even to a time limit (like a four-hour challenge or something) means that there’s not only a deadline, but a reason to actually get it finished and “out of the door”. After all, if it’s for someone else, you really don’t want to let anyone down (whereas it’s very easy to put things off if it’s just for yourself). If, say, a dozen people all painted just one mini and swapped them over, that’s twelve minis fewer just sitting in a box/bag/drawer somewhere – which has to be a good thing, right?
