I’d like to give a big shout-out to my 70+ year old mother.  She used to play board games with us every weekend when I was growing up.

When I discovered a little game called ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ back in 1979 she didn’t let the hype cloud her judgment to make me get rid of ” that devil worshipping ” game.  She sat in on a couple of sessions and watched.  Saw that it was creative story telling and lead players to develop social skills and do math on the fly.  She stood in defiance of a crowd one night that was encouraging parents to take away the D&D books from thier kids and bring them to the book burning.  At 5’1″ she was a force of nature to behold that night.  I’ll never forget it!

I’ve been playing D&D ever since and enjoying hundreds of other tabletop games all do to the unstoppable force I call ‘Mom’.
