I’m ploughing through my kabuki models collection. Not that it is so vast, but models like that tell a lot about changing tastes. I really get a lot of “what was I thinking moments” (like with the guy bellow – his face is cool but armour is all over the place and Santa Clause cloak is… well…).
The mini has a bit of its own history. I bought it back in 2010-ish to act as Daemon Hunter in my Warzone Mishima army (my favourite troop type of that game in all but last editions of the game). Before I’d managed to paint him, I switched to Infinity and in my first army of Haqqislam had no place for that mini. He had his second chance with me starting Yu Jing Army just after they introduced Shikami profile. At that point I built him new base and put magnets in his feet so I could change bases between playable and scenic. Unfortunately official Shikami mini was released soon after and was way cooler (and then the profile was completely denied for me with the Uprising…). So he awaits his chance to finally see battle, to that end I left his converted sachimono mast empty, who knows what colours would he wear in the end.
And as a bonus the same mini on his original albeit not fully painted base.
