I’d love to see Epic come back, especially if it was set in the Horus Heresy, to go with the Titans (although I would like them to expand and include other armies for 40K eventually).
I believe I read in an interview – perhaps on BoW – that they switched from 6mm to 8mm because that was the smallest they could model space marines and have different marks of armour be distinguishable. So while that doesn’t mean a new version of Epic is inevitable, I hope it’s still getting serious consideration.
(I’m sure the main reason for the scale switch was to invalidate old armies and competitors and encourage people to buy in from scratch, but that doesn’t mean that the scale / sculpting issue can’t also be true.)
Epic was my favourite game back in the day, and a big part of the attraction of Dropzone Commander for me, although they are quite different games.
One thing I think they missed with Adeptus Titanicus, and which I’d like to see in any new Epic game (and drawing inspiration from DZC) is to really make terrain a part of the game. Have it be interactive and destructable.
