They said it was a bug and that they’d fixed it. I’ll quote their reply:

Sorry, for this problem, and you are right, the system shouldn’t have to send any email on that place. It was a bug and we’ve corrected it now. We understand that your don’t have confidence, but thanks for your report, anyway.

So let’s hope it was a “one off” but for me those things are vital. (Plus I find the app too convoluted for a beginner but that’s another thing ;))
