Had one of those d’rr moments this morning, hadn’t realised that the Clans Kickstarter was announce slightly less (though perhap in the States the time) than 30 years since they where 1st announced by FASA way back in the day.

@warzan, @dignity, @avernos ,Last night decided to re-read Lethal Heritage by Micheal Stackpole, the novel that introduced them, My copy was pre general release in the UK, I  picked up my copy at the 1st UK Gencons at a Pontins holiday camp on south coast, that one of the FASA team had brought over for the members of Mechwarrior UK who were having their 1st tournament.

Think I was 1st in queue when little stall opened and probably got the 1st copy ever sold in the UK, so in theory its a bit unique. Didnt read it till the xmas as it was an early  xmas present, as the Gencon was 1st weekend in December.

Remember no one at the time had heard about the idea of the clans, (no internet back then)and the only hint had been a picture of the book cover (the original had an elemental trying to shoot its way into the cockpit of a mech) and various theorys in our club had been mentioned, we thought the most likely was aliens!( an idea that persisted when no vehicles were seen in clan units…was the main clan force fighting a rearguard whilst the Clans got out of Dodge). Not sure the return of SLDF ever crossed our minds.
