Not everyone has the same high demands of their ‘painted’ minis as some of us do.

I’ve seen 3D printed avatars based on photograhs.
And they did looke pretty good depending on the level of detail and colours of the subject.
If they can do for the colour proces what they’ve done for their ‘custom’ minis themselves by preselecting colours that are guaranteed to look good for each part of the mini then they have potential to deliver something really amazing.

That could be a gamechanger *if* (and only IF) they can do it at a reasonable cost.

I’d suspect that even in a worst case scenario you may be able to a lot with a wash or a few highlights.
Skip the priming and only do the fine detail …
