Well got the new book and……

FINALLY they added the rules for the Tactics cards IN the rulebook YAAAY

NOW I’ll stop ranting….

Now armed with a pen and a pack of blank business cards you can make your own 🙂

Other things from the Book of Chains….

18 Gang Tactics, 18 in the version 2.0 pack. Not sure if the Version 2.0 cards are a reprint of the ones you got in Necromunda Underhive and the first Goliath Gang Tactics card pack, or if they are reworded, or if they are totally different. Does this mean that previous gang tactic cards are now obsolete?

Gang Tactics Cards are “locked in” to the 18 tactics in the book (for Goliath), probably a good thing as there was some horrible min-maxing and “that guy” tactics caused by players “building” their own gang decks.

Comfirmation (sort of) that GW and FW will NOT be releasing Juve models. The text in the book specifically refers to the fact that Gangers (now Brusiers) and Juves (now Bullies) are represented on the table with models from the basic gang box of miniatures “with only their access to equipment” differentiating the models. You could still convert the new Forge Born models into Juves I suppose, but it’s a shame they decided not to make ANY models for the Juves (I’m assuming this will hold true for the later books with each gang getting a new type of “prospect” model with a variation on the old Juve specific to each gang.

The book is definitely better than previous Necromunda books with things a lot more tightly written and less ambiguous than others. Not sure if this is due to the much more narrow focus, HOWEVER my minor gripe with this one is there’s a LOT of reprinted material from previous books included. They “seem” to be trying to make these new gang books a “one stop resource” for running each gang. The upside of this is that there’s going to be less referring between different books, the downside is basically the Gangs of the Underhive will become obsolete over the next 18 months (but I’ve no doubt they’ll leave some stuff there that doesn’t get reprinted. Even the Rulebook for Necromunda Underhive (N17) still has some rule clarifications that weren’t carried forwards to the new hardback rulebook.
