Stuff I found really made a difference in the last six months:

• magnifiers – even if you don’t *need* them, they make painting faces and tiny details much more enjoyable
• decent wet palette (Redgrass) – homebrew ones are fine but pro wet paper is just nice to use
• pro arte renaissance sable brushes #2 – big belly, sharp point makes everything just nicer
• daytime LEDs or arch light – I put LED strips under the shelf above my painting desk, what a difference!
• decent flat sided side-snips
• greenstuff world rollers

A bit left of field:

• magazine/website/patreon subscription (Duncan’s painting academy is £3.50 a month)
• udemy/video tutorials on a hobby-related topic
• some nice themed resin bases for your next squad/army
