I would like the old format back. A studio show is for my taste a much higher quality show. There are many talking head formats of show on the interweb with quality similar to what we get now. As I see it there are 2 major difference between Beasts of War and other shows: 1) BoW cover a wider range of games and periods; 2) There is a huge quality difference in sound, lightning and most importantly “feel” of a studio show.

For me the quality aspect has always been important. I usually refer to BoW as a TV-show not a Youtube Channel. On Youtube there are a lot of “channels”, but there is only one Show. Getting guests to come in, interact in person and see the hosts holding and inspecting miniatures together is a big positive for me.

To keep the current distance format seems a bit like satisficing. Its ok, because it works. But does it shine? Is it the best you can do? I’ve always seen BoW as aiming to do the best you can do. The fanciest, the set-ups and shows that create value above what is obviously seen.

I would honestly be disappointed if you stay with the current model. I would go from watching your show, to listen instead. I also miss the discussions you had on development within the industry. That is an aspect that I think you do less of these days. What is the next thing after 3D-printing in color? Is the Golden Days over?

I hope that you not only go back to the old format, but even expand upon it. Unboxings with two persons, playthroughs with 4, so as to foster discussion and reflexion. Get more guests from the game companies to come in and talk about their games and play those games with you. In your professional studios.

Youtube channels usually do similar things, unboxings and painting tutorials under a close cam, battle reports on a shacking cam and talking heads (often complaining). You are different. Your main unique feature are professional studios, many camera angles, shows that are live, professional intros and knowledgeable hosts that are serious, funny, a bit naughty, and still polite yet with a glimmer in your eye and a way to get your mening across. Much of that is lost with a distance set-up that is just good enough. Be the best BoW!
