When you have time off work how long does it take for you to really start relaxing?
Minus half a day. Sometimes minus two days. What’s the point of time off work if you can’t coast into it? 😉
Though in all seriousness, since I’ve been self-employed for about six or seven years, I’ve made an effort to relax into it as much as possible. Work as little as possible = spend as much time on the beach as I can! Any period before time off means working more than normal, to build up a bank of time – if not cash – so I don’t worry about work at all during time off (after all, it wouldn’t be “time off” then, would it)
Do you get more hobby done in your time off work or less?
Um. More, I think. The amount of time I spend on hobby usually has very little to do with the amount of work I’ve done. But I’m just as likely to spend my time strumming a guitar or reading a book. Painting minis is part of my downtime – I don’t pass it up to do other things, just cram in more stuff to do during “days off”.
At the end of your time off work do you look back on what time was wasted or do you just “meh, I needed that break”-it?
Time not working is never time wasted. Sometimes just sitting and having a good think is time well spent. The only time I feel like I’ve wasted time is when I’ve given up doing something I’d like to do, in order to do something else for money.
On to hobby – I’ve always preferred sci-fi over fantasy and Cyber Forge have been putting out some really good stuff. But this month, it’s all Titan Forge for me. This months’ sci-fi release really does nothing for me, but the Titan Forge (fantasy) release looks utterly superb. I’m swapping subs for this month.
