@guillotine – you nailed it; as far as hardware goes, there’s not much more to do with 3d printers.
It’s a bit like buying a top end photo-quality Canon printer and complaining your pictures are rubbish because you only ever use Word’s Clip Art – it’s not the printer that’s the issue!
So many stl creators at the minute have no idea about actual printing – they make lovely looking renders to sell their models, but they’re often just dreadful. I still refuse to use other people’s supports, so it’s not really fire-and-forget (except it is – I spend an hour or so preparing my files, then I send them to the printer and just walk away for a few hours – I treat it the same as preparing a photo before printing, to get the best results).

@sundancer – what if there’s some way we could orchestrate some dumb luck for you? Interested? I might still have your address but DM me – it make take a few weeks, but we can make this happen! You’ve got about four weeks to make some space 😉

(we can’t do anything about your number 4. But unless you’re painting faster than your printing, does it really matter?)
