My current gaming setup is a cheap-ish one.

Some relatively cheap shelving wood from a a DIY store screwed to pieces of dismantled futon that I can store inside a wardrobe.

The black tiles are TTcombat gaming boards that I stuck cork tiles to and spray painted.

Throw a 6×4 gaming mat over the top and my 5×3 table becomes a 6×4 when needed.
