There’s a film from the 80’s called Dragonslayer that has become something of a cult classic and there is a novelisation by Wayland Drew that’s very good… you’ll probably only find it used though… unless you like ebooks.

Presumably you are rejecting most of the D&D fodder.

There’s another book by this guy called Tolkien… something about a hobbit.

Terry Pratchett did a few dragon related books if you’re looking for humour.

I’m sure there are more, but off hand they don’t come to mind.
