Aside from the ‘Elven Bible’ (….) aka Silmarillion and a few Black Library offerings, does anyone know of any readable fantasy novels featuring Elves ? Searching Goodreads or similar sites brings up stuff like The Elflord’s Concubine…….

With a title like that, it’s gotta be good. j/k

I’ve heard good things about The Elven originally published in German written by Bernhard Hennen and James A. Sullivan,

they have apparently written a bucket load of them including both writing solo novels featuring their characters. Got to be worth a punt and if its any good then you’ve plenty more to try.

Kind of elves: Legends of the Albae by Markus Heitz. Sideplot on The Dwarves. Though Albae are more “dark elves” and actual elves are their enemies.

Elfquest comics? 30+ year old series. Digital versions should be available somewhere. May have seen this on Humble Bundle once. Ask reddit’s Elfquest subreddit maybe.

Featuring Elves or starring them. Most fantasy from the 80’s and 90’s featured them but they’re not usually the main focus – that is almost always humans

Well, I would prefer something written from the Elves’ perspective, but since human authors seem incapable of doing that – their Elves are pretty much always just tall, skinny humans with pointy ears and a talent for shooting arrows, there isn’t anything ‘Elvish’ about them – I guess Human narration will have to do. As long as it’s not ye olde cross-species ‘romance novel. Imagine an Elf falling in leuve with a Human….That would be like a Human hooking up with a Chimpanzee.

I’m a big fan of Raymond E Feist’s books, Elves play a part but not a large part more about the human characters. But they have  great adversary in the form of dark elves – Moredhel also known as Brotherhood of Dark Path are a race of Elves. The moredhel are the elves who once served the Valheru – Dragon Lords.
