Just a quickie correction guys, this was picked up on the Facebook Warlord Cruel seas site but they have the 6pdr mounts the wrong way round on the Fairmile D’s .
The Auto 6pdr should be at the front and shielded one at back on the Fairmiles, Originally they were armed with a 2pdr pom pom on front and an old WW! era 6pdr at the back (the one with Shield), the 2pdr was uprated with a naval version of the 6pdr anti-tank when they became avail with the auto loader.
Initially only enough for the one up sharp end but eventually the one at rear was replaced with the newer gun as numbers increased.
Above image show the original layout with the 2pdr at the front. have tried to find one with the 6pdr showing at front but most have later layout with the Auto 6pdr at both ends.
