    Ladies and Gents,

Im on the scrounge for support for a challenge i undertook this Friday the 22nd March 2024, it was the Great Tommy sleepout for the Royal British legion specifically for homeless veterans. The challenge was to sleep rough for a night in a shelter i made, which was a challenge just organising as im classed as severely disabled.

I needed a safety number and a shelter should my health decline so my mate Dave @igetgames came along in relative comfort (as he kept telling me). whilst i armed with a tarp and basic gear made myself a primitive shelter and endured the elements. it was nothing fancy i stayed as close to the brief as i could with a basic sleep mat and a thin sleeping bag my only concession for health reasons. Dave came representing NATO with a French army tent, Polish swag bag and other little gadgets from various locations lol.

Friday Afternoon we set up and then at dusk the wind got up roaring through the trees, the temperature dropped and pergatory commenced. My dog Trouble who insists on joining me for everything buried himself in these thin blankets and as if to say bugger that never left them. i made it through the night though and although in a lot of discomfort and puffing like an old warhorse come the end, came home to lots of messages saying cancel it your mad its gonna be a frost and down to -2. (we had no cell coverage where we chose as our camp out in the wilds).

heres my facebook page if you could help this worthwhile cause even a pound would help and a big thankyou if you can, plus there are lots of photos of a Fat ex sailor freezing his bits off eventually joining the dog for no sleep at all.

    many thanks peeps X
