Help wanted: The flesh is done and I’m working on the mushrooms. They need another coat or two, but what do people think I should shade/wash them with? A flesh wash? Agrax? Something else?
EDIT: The picture looks blurry until you click on it. Odd.
December 6, 2018 at 1:32 am #1310768Started work on the recently released set of 20mm DAK Pioneers from AB Figures… first one done.
December 6, 2018 at 9:38 am #1310846@andre77 start a separate thread where you can only post photos of the back side of whatever you are painting. Call it, “WAYPN: What Arse You Painting Now”, and everyone has to tag Lloyd in to every single post
December 6, 2018 at 9:49 am #1310857A better look at the Leviathan. Still some work to do – eye-lenses and the lie mainly, cabling for Siege Claw, hitting the black armour with a final wash of Nuln Oil Gloss – but I’m digging how it’s coming together. I used some more of that BlueRaspberry colour-shift paint from Turbodork on the claw blades to tie back to the power weapons on the infantry and it still blows me away how the stuff is like milk on the pallet, but as soon as you apply it it becomes this fascinating deep metallic blue/purple….

December 7, 2018 at 4:05 am #1311099Some necron wraiths for a commission. I have not painted anything 40k for years now and especially necron as this is the first time. OSL seems to work well for them as they look like machine undead spirits. I was not so taken with the studio scheme. Lots of work with the airbrush on these guys.

Soldado’s Burrows and Badgers terrain – Part the second! The Mansion of Marneous Blackwick!
A mixed Smithy and Bakery.
December 7, 2018 at 11:14 pm #1311615This week I started back up with the Harry Potter pile. Remus Lupin and Werewolf form.

I also was able to put this guy together. The yet to be released xanathar model from galeforce nine’s d&d collector’s series. A bit goofy but oh well
December 8, 2018 at 11:34 am #1311649Something I did yesterday-
I also did a painting video on the process – https://youtu.be/Id0u0EIsc-I
December 8, 2018 at 1:56 pm #1311731Purity seals and the power cables for the claw painted, and a wash of Nuln Oil Gloss over the black armour plates maek this big boy complete 🙂

December 8, 2018 at 7:24 pm #1311834Ok, so decided to send the rest of my afternoon getting some basing down on some additional Deathwatch:

Had a bit more of a play around with colour-shift paints on the power weapons:

and, because it seemed to be concerning Ben somewhat during this weeks Hobby Hangout, he need not be concerned as the Primaris are coming…..
December 8, 2018 at 8:23 pm #1311854Howdie folks – been away from the bench over our fantastic summer doing some hiking. Picking up where I left off by finishing off my Seraphon Saurus Warriors. I’ve just picked up the Strikehost Battleforce so that’s me pretty much sorted for over Christmas…
Really glad I didn’t do these all blue like the GW boxart. It would have bored me silly. Just the bases to finish and tidy.
I’ve also been continuing with my Fallout table. I’ve been putting some modular ruins together…
And keeping with the Fallout theme, I’ve started putting some paint on a Brother Vinne NotABOSPaladin.
