Here are a few sneak peaks at some of the cool Lord of the Rings models due out this February from Games Workshop.
The Goblin King of the Deep and Ashrak Spiderblood
The Easterling Dragon King, Warrior Priest and Cataphracts
The Guardian of the Lake and a Horror from the Deep
The Gorgoth Beast
Don't forget guys... the Lord of the Rings boxed sets are being reduced to 1 sprue per box very soon... that's half the size for (what could undoubtedly be) the same (or strikingly similar) cost... so I would get down to the stores quickly if you want to get some value for money!

those are not the best minis ive seen from the LOTR stable
I knew I should have held on to my unopened box sets for another month or two
There are actually a few models missing from this list, such as Amdur Mounted, Casualties, “Warg Lootriders,” King’s Huntsman, Dwarf Hornblower, Galadhrim Hornblower, and Knight of the White Tower. These miniature releases, along with the infantry boxed set re-organizations (which has now taken place) and upcoming new Sourcebooks for SBG are massive, massive news items in the LotR gaming community. Check out One Ring and The Last Alliance websites…pages and pages of discussion.
Probably an “outsider” wouldn’t understand how big this news is, but there hasn’t been a NEW LotR release from GW in over a year, and for quite a while, the Strategy Battle Game (skirmish game) seemed like a dead, unsupported game from GW. It seems that these releases and reorganizations are preparing the range to be re-adjusted from War of the Ring (mass combat) back to SBG (skirmish), as The Hobbit will likely be made up of smaller scenarios.
On the models themselves, I like them all except for the interpretation of the back of the Watcher in the Water. However, nothing in this release is good enough to make me fork over my cash before the Hobbit miniatures are released.
