Wow, the videos come fast today!
Nice playthrough guys, enjoyed myself as usual with your videos. Really hope more people get interested in to this game. The Huey objective is great, loved to pait mine very much.
Keep em coming!
As a person who has experienced only the WWII aspect of Flames of war, it is awesome to see how the whole atmosphere changes in ‘Nam.
Not sure if the part after 8:37 was supposed be in this 😀 But game looks great. The table looks awesome. Really lookin forward to get deeper into the action and to see how things work.
3rd Nam vid of the day. Keep em coming!
Everyone gonny get shoot get line
I like the hidden aspect to the PAVN local troops.
That’s what is was like with the VC. They could be anyone and anywhere. Led to a lot of crap for the civvies unfortunately.
Big FoW player and I have been working on my Gary Owen company since tour came out. Love the different feel for automatic rifles, ambush, helicopters and medics. Not a huge Vietnam war fan per se but the challenges and modern weapons and units make this game really fun! I am looking foward to more and seeing what we’ve been doing wrong.
Oh and think about time travel possibilities… just sayin you coud do it.
I like the mechanics of this game so far, though I probably won’t be getting into it. Unless I win one of the prizes of course. XD
its a trap! the farmers are not pleased. great video warran
Unlike the FoW videos, this one seemed very rushed, hurried. Wasn’t as relaxed as the many other videos. Glad to have the intro to Tour Of Duty, but it just doesn’t matchup to the other FoW 2.0 ‘easy going, just a couple friends learning the game’ style that I enjoyed so much.
different style of video 🙂
We do all sorts round here you know 😉
I like what I’ve seen of the game so far 🙂
I really like this so far I can see so much potential for this to expand even further
Great terrain. I love those pre-painted huts.
Looking forward to seeing a board with a lot more jungle, want to see the yanks out of their depth.
(gotta) GET SOME GET SOME GET SOME (FoW Vietnam)
cool. pre-painted buildings look ace, the way the Americans can deploy by helicopter looks pretty slick, pretty easy, no buggering about with a tonne of special rules – really am loving this Vietnam stuff more n more with every minute
Its lookin epic guys
It does seem a bit one sided. If anything, the culture references teach us that the Americans were cool. It’s hard finding people who will want to play the VC, I’m guessing. Maybe not.
I’m thinking that friends who get together for this hobby have to buy and paint an equal amount of VC for every point spent on US or Anzac
It really strikes me as a game for buddies to play together (not against one another)
Isn’t that what the prize for? 🙂
Well i would play the vc, because i like hordes of men storming the usa lines and i hope the vc get a rule about their tunnel systems.
As far as i know the vc were very fast movers in the jungle. they invent the famous pacour run style and uses tunnels. Hide and seek 🙂 oh boy i can imagine ambushes with booby traps raids on outposts and maybe the tet offensive? let the yankees fly and give me a showel and a battalion of vc jungle fighters and we will see who will win in the end 🙂
amazing table
Awesome again NAM week is the shiz
3 things:
1 – You guys should do WFB and 40K videos like the first FTW series – Very funny, couldn’t stop watching them and I learned a freaking lot from the.
2 – This one indeed was not what I was expecting after watching the first series of videos. Let’s see how things evolve through the week
3 – Questioning? Warren would’ve shoot those villagers from the chopper….
cheers from Brazil
3. Excactlu. When they run they are vc. When they stand still they are well trained vc.
How can you shoot women and children?
I love the idea of the American deployment of being well anywhere and I am waiting to see how this develops and the differences between it and the WW2 game
I really expected a good Ol’ Yo Joe! 😀
Cool stuff!
Sorta interesting to see this setting turned into a game.
awesome stuff
Another game sold to me. Damm let c if i can order some stuff
Starting to see how the deployment is building the atmosphere of this era of conflict.
Cool I was wondering how they would game play a insurgent force.
Loving nam week, keep it going guys!
I rather like the VC mechanic. That’s a neat way of incorporating the “who’s on our side?” aspect of Nam
The scenery on that table looked really nice
Ah, nothing like a hot LZ to get the blood flowing through one’s veins…
The “Tour of Duty” is how my Brother is getting involved with FoW…
He used to be a “Snake Doctor” in the 101st and is delighted that his former unit is represented in the game….
Great video…..Short, Concise, and to the point….
just watch platoon and warren you where right brilliant film
Too bad, Dave hasn’t made it to this. Here’s hope for some historical insights from the other chaps on the series.
I WANT THIS
you have a series called basic training and no one is Role Playing Gunny Hartman?
Its temping to rush out and buy there already never mind waiting for the rest of the week :/
Loving this series so far and it’s even better that im getting in to FoW at the same time. Can not wait to buy my ANZAC army, my home town boys will be on the table soon. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi 😉
Nice alternative to starting a game from both sides of the table
That is really cool how the troops taxi into the battle, and move around as they like!
I love the smell of new minis in the morning.
Love this.
the two army prices have to be the best prices for FOW so far. they look amazing.
i use to play the flames of war M L war with the British but the lists where always tank heavy or revolve around a few tanks that make the army so everyone’s anti-tank gun were taking me out to quickly but the nam style of play in perfect with mass infantry with their heli-taxis and very few tanks.
Are there any rules for aircraft like MIG-15 in the Tour of Duty Vietnam Setting?
Great video guys! Just ordered the Tour of duty book to see what army im going to be playing.
I like that dynamic deployment. That should cause some interesting situations on the battlefield.
Great Stuff, keep it coming as I am off on holiday this week so I am watching these great vids while I model and paint away.
Looks interesting
I still don’t have FoW. It could be a good start. 🙂
Looks very cool – wasn’t sure how much the ‘nam stuff would interest compared to WW2 but it definitely has a unique feel about it 🙂
Never really looked at Vietnam for gaming, but as usual pretty models being shown just triggers some collector instinct in me.
no surf boards on the choppers?
That is a must!
Liking the manoeuvrability of the Americans.
Makes me want to recreate the base camp from “The Green Berets.” Just need to find pictures of it. 🙂
Interesting lack of a deployment zone
The cool factor of the us troops is great, as said due to their mobility. I seem to get a liking for underdoggy troops like VC… If I pick up Nam, I will be picking up VC first, but US will come in too 🙂
Really like the questioning mechanic just like the movies.
Loving it all so far. Cool game
I like the way the game captures the rapid deployment of the Americans and the ambush tactics of the V.C.
Just my opinion but that was awe full 🙁 warren did’nt seem comfortable and no Dave/warren banter 🙁
It’s ok tomorrow (god willing, ok and Justin too!) you will get an hour long episode of me and Dave getting to grips with the book 🙂
And another episode on Friday too!
I haven’t started playing FOW but as a veteran I think the Vietnam era would be very interesting and it is very attractive. I’ll keep watching the videos and see how it goes.
The hidden rule for PAVN is great – much needed if they are to use ambush etc against the superior technology of the USA>
I know its the same comment, but I am currently running the Internet through my and none of the videos want to load!!
Hmm, they are great looking Models, but I’m not sure how I feel about Wargaming in a realistic setting.
Still, Maybe I cna Concert them into something 🙂
Looks like there are some interesting mechanics that should really switch things up a bit
Local militia and air units, this is a very dynamic table then? I can just imagine the chaos.
Best diatribe of insults is the drill instructor welcoming the new recruits to basic in Full Metal Jacket
Thanks for the videos
Liking the looks of things so far.
“The rest of the villagers are presumed innocent”.
But when the bullets start flying and in the heat of battle I reckon it would be shoot first ask questions later.
Nam!
Very interesting
I am slightly concerned about the balance – is there any “unit” point count, etc? Or as a special scenario it is supposed to have this many “local reinforcements”? Or it is quality-vs-quantity thing? Just curious how the next video plays out..
Hodor!
Awesome, I’ll have to talk the wife into letting me spend some money
I love the atmospheric feel of whether the civilians are vc or not. Paranoia all round!
interesting…
Ooooh duuuude. Love those Huey’s. I guess the rules ignore the span of the rotors when placing them.
Love where you left it. The US forces see a wall of Charlie coming at them from one side then a bunch more pop up behind them.
Nice table. I thought that you would need lots of jungle terrain, but of course there is lots of different terrain in Nam. Looks really good.
Looking good so far!
I know FoW is all about the tanks but those hueys coming in and dropping off guys is really cool.
nice helicopters
loving the coverage, wanna paint a huey now!
Intresting to see the differences b shown by the roll of a diceetween being able to deploy where you want, unlike the paras whose drop is effected by wind
Damn. Been telling myself that this ‘Nam thing wasn’t for me. And then you go and do this. DAMN!
Ready for training!
random comment to win stuff
awww yeah, id love some Nam’ americans to roll with my ww2 americans
Nonrestrictive deployment like that is great. Hoping the PAVN have enough to counter it though
I hope they expand the game to more modern settings!!
Great video, really interesting! Gonna watch the rest now!
A good video, nice basic explanation for some rules that sometimes become rather complicated.
Bought the book and ready to go!
‘Obligatory chopper noise”
The mechanics on this look awesome. If the PANV mechanics are all that fun, I might have to pick this up for a go!
Never thought someone would be successful making a large scale Vietnam game. I am liking this more and more.
Best theme week yet guys. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Especially nice touch with the music. And i liked the multiple unboxings spread over the week.
I’m going on a copy+paste mission now to maybe win an army. If not, i’ll be buying one anyway.
or you could just have typed a simple message having watched the videos rather than spamming my email inbox 😉
Gotta love the name
It’s this sort of mission that makes Nam something special!
Ben
That’s an interesting mechanic! My first question is where are the tanks! 🙂
I like the idea that its not two static lines like FoW normally is!
great game great rules
