Fight Samurai Battles With Wargames Atlantic’s Heihō Set

Wargames Atlantic has put together a new box of 10mm Samurai miniatures alongside the folks at Helion Wargames to create a big battle packed into one place. You can now dive into Heihō with a whole host of plastic Samurai!

Using the rules from Helion and Heihō - The Art of War, this set allows you to recreate famous battles like Kawanakajima and Sekigahara. With the rules, you can dive into spectacular battles from the end of the 16th Century. This comes together as part of a sophisticated tactical system where you'll be working out the best way to dominate your opponent.

Inside the set, you get eight frames of Ashigaru, four frames of Samurai and two frames of Command figures. You will also get the dice and tokens that you need for playing your games. This gives you everything that you require for building two armies and then playing out those awesome battles.

The set also comes with the full rulebook for Heihō - The Art of War, which can be played at any scale but it works really well when you get to this 10mm epic scale. It works well to represent the battles that would have featured somewhere between 20,000 and 100,000 men!

Heihō replicates the mixed arms style of the time and the elaborate battle formations that the armies would have adopted. You can use traditional movement and measurement for the game but it has also been primarily designed for tables divided into square grids.

As you'll be using the Wargames Atlantic plastic miniatures for Heihō, you won't have to worry about base sizes and the game also supports "elements" where you have smaller units supporting bigger formations, focusing on the use of archers, cannons and supply units. The game also introduces unique characteristics for your clan troops and their commanders so you can really deep dive into the nuances of warfare during the Sengoku period.
