Turner Miniatures Bringing Mighty 28mm Ships To Kickstarter
December 9, 2025 by brennon
Henry Turner of Turner Miniatures is often known for sculpting in 1/600, 1/700 and 1/1200 scale but they are going to be coming to Kickstarter soon with a range of 3D Printable 28mm ships and sailors as part of the Salt & Shot campaign.
Salt & Shot: Blood on the Main // Turner Miniatures
The idea is that there will be a large offering of pirate ships for you to use in your 28mm skirmish games. You will have a veritable flotilla to choose from alongside a set of figures that represent a crew looking to hoist the mainsail and head off for a spot of plundering.
Classic Sloop // Turner Miniatures
The ships that Turner is working on have been designed to be printed in both FDM and Resin. You will be able to get your hands on a Longboat, Piragua, Corvette, Flush-Decked Sloop, Bermuda Sloop and a Galleon (which is massive!)

As you can see, the early work on the 3D printable files is already nice indeed and there's plenty of detail for you to sink your teeth into with each kit. I like that Turner has left plenty of space on the deck so you can actually move your miniatures around and do a bit of skirmishing.

If you like the look of these ships, then you can actually get an entirely free sample of a Sloop from Turner over on MyMiniFactory so that you can try it out. Equally, you can also get your hands on a free sample of the Sailors if you're interested in the crew.

If you're interested in how one of these ships breaks down component-wise, you can check it out below...

...and here's the Galleon all set up and in the middle of being painted by Henry Turner! As you can see, it truly is a beast and will be a worthy prize for any pirate crew.

As well as the main offerings from the campaign, there will also be a set of Stretch Goals that Turner is working on that include...
- Light Frigate
- Characters & Officers
- 6th-rate Frigate
- Soldiers
- Canoe
- Fluyt
- Brigantine
- Militia
- Tartana
- Bark
- Ketch
- Caribbean Natives
- Bark
- European Cavalry
As you can see, Turner Miniatures has a lot planned for this campaign and I'm sure this is going to slot very nicely into a lot of collections for the likes of Blood & Plunder. You can never have too many ships.
If you'd like to hear more about the project from Mr Turner (who sounds like a pirate with a name like that), then you can go and see more over on Patreon. Sign Up to be notified when the campaign goes live.
Are you going to become a salty sea dog and join this new campaign?
