D-Day Campaign: Battle For Pegasus Bridge Final Round

As Jack closes in the German SS Officer decides enough is enough. Activating first (oops...my bad, sorry Rob for pulling the dice!) he charges towards Jack and delivers the killing blow scuppering the British plans to take Pegasus Bridge.

In the end this scenario ends with the Germans winning the day and stopping the British advance late at night. Maybe the invasion wouldn't have gone so well because of this set back?

Remember to help out and join in with the D-Day World Wide Campaign!

WUNDERBAR! Excellent and hard-fought game from the sounds of it. I will have to let our players on Sword Beach know what happened as this could seriously impact things when the 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment, 2nd Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, and 1st Battalion South Lancashire Regiment (8th Brigade, 3rd UK Infantry) come ashore. They might find strong elements of 21st Panzer right on their left wing as tanks rumble over GERMAN-CONTROLLED Pegasus Bridge, through Ouisterham, and onto “Queen Sector,” Sword Beach. Since, I’m playing German forces in other WWDDC games, well, I can’t say I’m displeased with the results. Well… Read more »

So I was right after all. The Germans held the bridge. A very cinematic ending – the two commanders facing off in the fight that would determine the outcome.

Great game. Thing is the Germans don’t realize the 2nd and 3rd waves of paras are around the corner. There will be revenge!!!

I don’t have a bridge, but I plan to do a few games with the push inland from the beaches, in Hedgerow/Bocage country. Will be taking plenty of pics and vids 🙂

Thanks, @mc1gamer . We’d love to have you included in our project and upcoming article series on Beasts of War. Just either PM me on this site ( @oriskany ) or drop a comment on the WWDDC thread –

Our group coordinator @chrisg is running some other fighting near Pegasus Bridge (near Ranville, southeast across the canal and Orne River). So we’ve got plenty going on in the general area I think you’re talking about. So please join up if you’re interested. We’d love to have you.

Not the German troops, @zorg ! 🙂 There ARE two sides to this campaign, you know. Me fellow German players and I are over the moon!

Well it was a very close run thing… it was quiet nail biting..if we had just had the luck…but a fab game to play.

I made a couple of mistakes, and just went for the do ir die approach in the end. Had i had the dice out of the bag Jack wiuld have been in the tower killing the sniper and taking the position.

I would love to have played it with oainted minis but there is at least a weeks worth of work there to get them painted.

you know if they would have started this off with 12 guys, a sergeant and a major attacking a cocktail party it would have gone the right way
