I’ve always wanted to do a factory battle like from Enemy at The Gates. Forces obviously have to have a Vet sniper each who could even have some really overpowered rules to them.

I’d be doing something like an SAS night raid on a German supply camp.

I’d go for Japanese vs Chinese forces in Shanghai.I’d build an urban table to represent Shanghai, the Chinese would be a mix of nationalist troops and gangsters fighting the Imperial Japanese. I’d have the convert the Chinese using a mix of sprues from Japanese, German and Russian infantry, due to the fact there aren’t any suitable miniatures. Though I could use the metal Copplestone Chinese from the Back of Beyond range.

damnit, didn’t think of other theatres of war… Blitzkrieg Germans make for pretty good Chinese nationalist forces…

The Tobruk buildings look great, but a what if scenario where the Germans get as far as Alexandria would make for an awesome city fight. British naval guns providing fire support from ships off the coast, German tanks pouring into the streets. Ice Cold in Alex on steroids as some British units desperately retreat, others try to put up a desperate defence…

I’d love to see a Halfaya Pass scenario and gaming board to go with it. A small narrow passage with rough ground all around. A small force of defenders maybe less than 500 pts has to hold off for a certain number of turns against 1500+ points in several waves.

the attack of easy on that first french town. it was presented so epic in the series and i played it in so many iterations of rts and fps games that im very likly to have atleast some elements made for normandy tables soon.

I’d go weird too. Crossover with the Mummy movie (Not the stupid Tom Cruise one, the older ones).

I’d like to do the British army in London versus a Martian invasion…. War of the worlds in the 1940’s.

How about a fighting retreat? Whoever has the most trucks or non-combat vehicles as to be the retreating force and try to get as many of them off a board edge whilst the enemy has to delay or destroy them.

It’s ripe for asymmetrical gaming

Looking for the missing spice collector and the spice cache. Fremen ambush Harkonnen. Actually we did this 😉

I just really like the idea of playing through the whole war, or at the least a narrative, goal oriented campaign.

I wrote a scenario about the battle of France recently, with a defender having to stay on the board as long as a column of refugees. So that’s my setting; Battle of France, confusion and blitzkrieg.

LRDG sneaking in blowing up German planes. Sneak past the guards, points for any you blow up.

I’m working on a commando raid on a port, haven’t progressed it much lately but will redouble my efforts after watching these posts

Or the NZers first engagement charging to within 100 yards of the enemy on their trucks before dismounting.

The terrain is truly inspiring! Would love to try some night raids; perhaps attacking an airfield or a vital oasis.

For me it would have to be a Kampfgruppe Brinkman Counter Attack against the Polish Paras during operation Market Garden. Would happen right after they had secured cutting off the British Paras in Arhnem and the Polish Paras would be trying to reach the bridge from the opposite bank. To keep things interesting I would ensure that both sides force choices were kept secret from each other but with the restrictions that both sides could only choose from forces/units that would have actually been available. You would not know the opponents forces until you saw them deploy and you would… Read more »
