The Conclusion to Warren and Rob's Marathon Game

Gerry has been running from table to table all day helping people get to grips with Flames of War but he also checks in with Warren and Rob’s game.

Interestingly for Warren, he’s found that the tanks have followed the terrain built by the OTT crew, keeping to the roads and dirt tracks whilst the infantry have happily hopped over hedgerows and delivered surprise attacks to armoured divisions.

The infectious nature of @warzan has certainly spread through this weekend so far and has got me excited about starting a new scale .Can’t wait for Sunday’s blog although it will probably hurt my wallet .

Whilst I blame my defeat on the Beer I had at lunchtime. It was in fact a miscalculation on my part… and lack of understanding of the abilities of infantry in the game. The German infantry is a total bitch to shift because they have a 3+ save where as the yanks have a 4+ so whilst I had in reality tried to kill the unit of infantry that out flanked me all I had succeeded in doing is pushing it back. I thought enough to get it out of the way in reality it was able with the follow me rule to get in close to murder my infantry.

Paratroopers save on 4+? That’s different. I thought all infantry saved on 3+. US paratroopers were Confident Veterans in the older games so they were hit on 4+ and saved on 3+. I’m pretty curious to see what they did in Hit The Beach.

I like the hidden objectives; makes for a more dynamic game than just a straight up slugfest.
