For some Pacific inspiration, check out this documentary about the Peleliu Beach Landing on September 15 1944...

Yup I had to change the video because it was being prevented from being embedded. Replaced it with this neat documentary 🙂

One hell of a documentary, but looking back it`s a wonder anybody lived through it……………….

“I was not a hero, but i was among hero`s”. Well said Everett Pope of the 1st Marine Division.

Did Naval bombardments ever work? Going by these documentaries it seems like they are a waste of ammo because dudes still get chopped up during the landings. Maybe it’s the numbers; not as many get chopped up.

I’m waiting for an account like “After the bombardment we landed, but there was nothing to do but clean up the beach.”
