Didn’t expect it to be as big! Looks really good! It’s a bit like the 1994 Soccer World Cup… the Irish v the Italians in the United States. There is bound to be one of the Irish Warriors who looks like Ray Houghton 🙂

We will try to get back and record an interview with them for the second or third segment.

Rome doesn’t record its failures.
P.S. They died from the common cold.

Common cold STEEL, that is!
When we last left the table the Irish were being slaughtered Omaha Beach style and the Romans hadn’t taken a casualty. But the Irish had TONS of numbers and were still coming on …

What is the terrain made from? A kit? The raised hill looks great.

What if Romans had invaded Ireland, they’d have found bugger all but forests, swamps and the locals beating 10 bales of hell out of each other.

Sounds like roman propaganda there

So cinematic! I really love the look of the fort with all the Romans looking out on the large open field!

Thanks! I tried to get some “forced perspective” on those shots. Glad they came out well!

From what I rememeber there are three scenarios with this they’re running … this was only the first. We will try to get back and record an interview with them for the second or third segment.

If the Romans had invaded Ireland, there would not have been some kind of Alesia. The irish would have repelled the Romans, I´m sure.

The Romans wouldn’t have liked the food, either. 😀 😀 😀

So There’s something very appealing about Roman armies…. I might Have to start one!

The definition of a “ranked” force. 😀 And historically they were “designed” to look terrifying and impressive when in full battle array and formation.

All fantastic looking Roman fortifications.

Very “Alesia” in some ways.

I do love the story of them attacking the Gaul’s they ended up fighting the city and the reinforcements at the same time from the walls they’re building as the fighting go’s on around them.

Yep, that’s Alesia. Caesar has Vercingetorix besieged in Alesia, while Caesar is besieged himself by Gaul reinforcements. Insane numbers, too. Even conservative estimates put the Gauls near 100,000.

luckily not asterisk an obelisk? for Caesar.

Definitely a very tough battle for him, a masterpiece of siege warfare.

The Irish seemed to do better as the weekend progressed. The first big game they lost … HARD. The second game they lost, but barely. They might have won the “Irish Teutoburg Forest” game in open woods (???)
