Australian Infantry Previews For Medbury’s Next Kickstarter
July 18, 2025 by brennon
Medbury Miniatures are closing in on the launch of their next Kickstarter campaign in August, which focuses on World War II and a range of Australian Infantry for the New Guinea Campaign. Recently, we got to see a few more of the miniatures they have lined up for the campaign.
Australian Infantry Officers // Medbury Miniatures
The campaign has been done in conjunction with Victor Perry of Adventure Miniatures, who is an enthusiast for the period and provided a lot of the reference material for the various miniatures. A large chunk of the figures that are part of this campaign are based on photography from the New Guinea Campaign, which also helped determine what the troops would be armed with.
Australian Infantry NCOs With Thompsons // Medbury Miniatures
The range will consist of approximately thirty figures that will cover all that you'd need for a platoon-sized game of pretty much any of the typical World War II rules out there. You'll have all of your command figures, regular riflemen, special weapons, spotters, mortar teams and more.
Australian Infantry Flamethrower // Medbury Miniatures
The miniatures will be available to backers in metal but also as STL files, so you can print them at home. Metal figures will be packed and shipped by Victor and Medbury Miniatures whilst all of the digital distribution will be done through MyMiniFactory.
Australian Infantry Bren Gunner // Medbury Miniatures
This feels like a great passion project for both Medbury Miniatures and Victor Perry and it's great to see that there is already quite a lot of buzz online for this campaign. I must admit I don't know a lot about Australia's involvement in World War II, apart from that they were part of Commonwealth forces around the globe. With that in mind, it's nice to have a campaign like this which will focus people's attention on them and what they did to aid the war effort.
This particular campaign will run from 1st-21st of August and if it goes well, it will be just the start of this adventure. There are ideas for Japanese troops, Aussie Commandos and Militia plus vehicles!
Do you like the sound of this now you've seen more miniatures?

All the Bruces!
These look ace. There’s not enough Aussie WW2 models around for my liking.
