Alien Swine Battle It Out In Indie Wargame, Rebel Trash!

Slade Stolar is on Kickstarter right now with their new project, Rebel Trash, which sees Alien Swine battling it out in a fun, quick, 28mm scale Sci-Fi skirmish game. You'll be able to get your hands on all of the rules, plus some nice figures by Warp Miniatures!

Rebel Trash // Scablands Press

In Rebel Trash, two players take command of work crews battling it out from landing pad to landing pad on a one-prosperous world that has now become a decrepit space port on the edge of known space. This is a lightweight, quick and fun miniatures game that will kick off with a two-player starter box via this Kickstarter campaign.

The rules for Rebel Trash exist as part of a Living Rulebook, which can be accessed from the Scablands Press website. Typically, you'll be playing short games of forty-five miniatures with five miniatures per side. It uses good ol' alternating activation and there is a real focus on a rewarding game experience where you rush towards danger, blast shots off near your friends and dive right into the meat of combat.

Rebel Trash will also feature a campaign system that allows you to dive into long-running stories with your friends, expanding your crew of Alien Swine from five to ten and eventually fifteen miniatures. With that in mind, your Swine don't actually die and instead their collected trauma, triumphs and treasures become part of who they are over the course of a campaign.

You can find out more about the intricacies of how the game works over on the Scablands Press website. The rules are a living document, so you'll see them update and change as niggles in the mechanics are found and I'm sure some player feedback would be greatly welcomed!

The miniatures, which you can see painted here by SkitsMix Creations, were sculpted by Alex Huntley of Warp Miniatures and come cast in resin. They will be part of the Rebel Trash Starter Set, which will also contain your bases, d8 dice, tokens for various status effects and if they get more funding, they will also add objective markers, terrain and more fun bits and bobs.

This is a quick, fun Kickstarter looking to bring a small skirmish game to life on the tabletop right from the mind of Slade Stolar. If Kickstarter was designed for anything, it was designed to support small projects like this with a boutique range of miniatures and fun Indie wargaming rules. I am on board with Rebel Trash.
