Cape War Command Joins Empress Miniatures 28mm Collection
December 12, 2025 by brennon
Empress Miniatures has added another set of 28mm metal figures to their collection for the period of the 1840s and 1850s. These will be perfect for those fighting in Colonial Africa and India.
8th Cape Frontier War Command // Empress Miniatures
This is a full-on Command Group for use in your 8th Cape Frontier War battles. You get a range of commanding officers alongside hangers-on and others who are making sure that everything runs smoothly.
Empress Miniatures has mentioned that these would work specifically for the 43rd Regiment but all of the miniatures would be great when used generally throughout the period. This was a war that took place between the British Empire and the Xhosa plus the Khoikhoi.
The Eighth Xhosa War was a war between the British Empire and Xhosa as well as Khoikhoi forces, between 1850 and 1853. It was the eighth of nine Xhosa Wars. Maybe use some of these figures to represent the likes of Harry Smith and George Cathcart, who led the forces during this period.
What do you make of this command set?
