"Beneath the broken surface of the world lies Tolkas, a drowned city lost to time and shadows. Its streets twist through flooded plazas and decaying halls, where spirits drift like fog and strange flora sit waiting for a victim. Every step in Tolkas is a descent. Every corner holds a memory half-buried in silt and mould. This is a place where the treasure glimmers just out of reach, and where the deep always watches."

When you play Whispers of the Deep, you'll be taking command of a Delver, a mystical soul who has been bound to a physical vessel. You will then hire a band of Fellows who face off against other Delvers in search of lost treasures.

Games of Whispers of the Deep are played on a 2x2 tabletop using between two and three miniatures per side. The game runs on a d8 dice system and a small set of statistics for you to get your head around. Move, Brawn, Brains and Armour. Each stat just tells you how many d8 you need to roll at a given time.

You'll be exploring ruins in search of treasures that you mine from the ground, whilst also surviving encounters against spirits that emerge as the threat level of the encounter rises.

The more chaos that you cause down in Tolkas, the more aggressive the spirits will become, triggering random event cards and unpredictable threats. The Core Rules (pictured above) contain all of the mechanics that you need to play, lore about the world of Tolkas, warband building rules, ways to build your own Delver, item and treasure lists, plus ways to run a campaign with linked games.
