New 28mm Ancient Warriors From WiP Games and Miniatures
December 16, 2025 by brennon
WiP Games and Miniatures introduced some new Ancient warriors to their collection recently for your 28mm Historical wargames. If you're playing On Bloody Ground (and beyond) and need some new commanders, troops or war machines, WiP might have you covered.
Thespian Command // WiP Games and Miniatures
We start with the Thespian Command miniatures, which is their most recent addition to the collection. They are presented here with the classic muscle cuirass or bell cuirass alongside the classic Corinthian helmet, which is so tied to the visualisation of the Ancient Greeks.
The Thespians were loyal and stalwart allies of Leonidas and stood with the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae. Maybe this is a good excuse to recreate this on the tabletop with On Bloody Ground?
Nubian Allies
If you're looking to go a little further south, then how about some Nubian Warriors, which were recently added to the WiP Games and Miniatures website?
Nubian Warriors // WiP Games and Miniatures
The Nubian Warriors come armed with their bronze axes, a common and very effective weapon for the period they would have been fighting in. These Nubians are part of a larger collection by WiP Games and Miniatures, which could represent a standalone force or as mercenaries alongside a New Kingdom Egyptian force.
Ride To War In Style!
Last but not least, and talking of the Egyptians, you can also get some new Egyptian Chariots from WiP Games and Miniatures which give you a bit of needed speed for chasing down your enemies on the field of battle.
Egyptian Chariot // WiP Games and Miniatures
You can either buy one of these chariots on their own or you can buy four of them as part of a bundle, giving you more than enough for your games of On Bloody Ground I would imagine.
Egyptian Chariot // WiP Games and Miniatures
These are the first chariots for the range by WiP Games and Miniatures but more are coming. They are going to expand out to include different crew members alongside one with a Pharoh riding to war in the back.
Chariots are awesome and everything but I am still haunted by having to use them in Total War games. They did practically nothing and would always get utterly destroyed by the enemy army. I'm sure they were a lot better in real life, though!
What do you make of these new miniatures for use in On Bloody Ground and other Ancient wargames?
