Archon Studio's Dungeons & Lasers range has expanded with some brand-new towering monsters and shambling hordes for you to use in your Fantasy roleplaying games, populating dungeons, as well as on the battlefield.

Baef the Horned Demon #1 - Archon Studio

Baef, the Horned Demon // Archon Studio

Following along from Ba'lor, whom we unboxed not long ago, Baef is a brand-new lord of the hells that you can add to your armies and role-playing games. You could use this fellow as part of a campaign where you're heading down into the hells to stop some terrible, evil warlord from unlocking the gates and unleashing terrifying demons across the realm.

Baef the Horned Demon #2 - Archon Studio

Baef, the Horned Demon // Archon Studio

Where Ba'lor felt like someone who could be the end game boss for your campaign, Baef feels like one of his generals who stalks the battlefield, taking the heads of his enemies in honour of his demonic lord. I could see him being the unthinking brute who wants to smash and burn, making him a dangerous foe for your party to deal with on the tabletop.

Another brilliant miniature that could also end up finding its way into wargames like Warhammer 40,000 as a new daemon for you to use alongside your rampaging horde of Khorne creations.

Two Heads Are Better Than One?

Perhaps intertwined within the same campaign that we're building up here, Gervase, the Ettin could end up being a creature that has been stirred by the demonic war raging across the realm.

Gervase the Ettin #1 - Archon Studio

Gervase, the Ettin // Archon Studio

There are a few different ways that you could use Gervase as part of your campaign. On the one hand, he could be an Ettin that has been driven to rage by the demonic war and now seeks to smash and pillage his way through the lowlands. However, because he has a shackle about his wrist, perhaps Gervase was actually held captive by the demons and was going to be unleashed like a "weapon"?

With this in mind, maybe Gervase could be calmed during your encounter with him and thanks to a good Persuade roll, perhaps he could be convinced to fight alongside you against his old captors. Having an Ettin on side can be very helpful!

The Risen Dead & Infernal Servants

In addition to those big new plastic miniatures, we also have two smaller sets which could be great for bulking out your monster selection in your roleplaying games. We start with the Skeleton Crew, which is a fantastic set of the risen dead for you to use in roleplaying games, board games and wargames.

Skeleton Crew - Archon Studio

Skeleton Crew // Archon Studio

This set contains enough components for you to make eighteen generic Fantasy Skeletons for you to use in whatever way you see fit. They look like they would slot nicely into a lot of different Fantasy settings without much hassle and you could base them individually or turn them into a single-based regiment if you were looking for something new to drop into Kings of War for example.

The set comes with a few weapon options, as you can see, covering spears, swords and crossbows, so you can have a varied collection of miniatures that suit whatever encounter you might set up for your dungeon delvers.

If you want to tie back in to the idea of a war of the hells rampaging across the realm, then you can also get the set of plastic Infernal Imps, the rank and file of the lords beneath!

Infernal Imps #1 - Archon Studio

Infernal Imps // Archon Studio

This set comes with sixteen miniatures and they should be rather easy for you to paint and get ready for the tabletop. I like the painted examples that Archon showed off. You have some Imps that might serve a hot-blooded killer, whilst others could perhaps gravitate towards a more pestilent lord.

Infernal Imps #2 - Archon Studio

As with all of the kits here from Archon and the Dungeons & Lasers range, these plastic miniatures come with fully sculpted bases so you can get painting and have some fun working out where they thematically fit within your collection.

Having handled the plastic kits from Archon, they really are nice and they have clearly but a lot of work into building these so that they give you dynamic miniatures whilst also allowing for a few options here and there.

I already want to start a new roleplaying campaign where I have the party going up against the various lords of the hells now. I might also have found some new fodder for my army of Khorne. Thanks Archon...

What do you make of these new miniatures?
