Perry Miniatures’ Travelbattle Expands With New 8mm Metals
February 5, 2026 by brennon
Perry Miniatures has expanded the options for its 8mm Historical wargame, Travelbattle, with some new metal miniatures. Some more traditional Napoleonic-style miniatures are on the way for those who want something a bit different or for those who want to tinker with the mechanics.
Infantry in Bicornes // Perry Miniatures
There are two more sets of Infantry in metal (new plastics will take time to create), starting with the Infantry in Bicornes. They come in the same size strips as the Travelbattle miniatures and should easily fit in amongst the other plastic troops you already have.
These have been painted here as Early Peninsular War Spanish and 1806 Prussians. They could also be painted as the Confederation of the Rhine, Saxons, Russians, French and even the British from the mid-1790s.
The set represents Infantry in Helmets.

These here have been painted as Austrians and Bavarians, but could also be based on the forces of Baden, Wurzbaurg and 1806 Nassau if you like. Again, they are in the right scale for Travelbattle and you could just paint them up in the classic Red vs Blue scheme of the game. Or, go more detailed with the schemes as you can see here.
8mm Cavalry
The cavalry side of things hasn't been forgotten as you can also get yourself a set of Lancers in Czapka.

These here have been painted as the Austrian Uhlans but also as the Polish, French Imperial Guard Polish and Dutch, Russians, Prussians and Berg Lancers. You get some nice fellows with lances high, ready to charge into the heart of the enemy.
You can also go dashing and rakish with the Heavy Cavalry in Bicornes.

These give you more options for the Spanish, painted as you can see here, like Dragoons. They could also be British Heavy Cavalry, Saxon Cavalry, Prussian Cavalry, Russian Cuirassiers and Dragoons or French Line Cavalry. Another lovely, simple set of miniatures that you could finish off very quickly for use in Travelbattle.
8mm Artillery!
Last but not least, you can also get some new artillery choices for Travelbattle.

These crews with their Bicornes are designed to work as the Spanish (as you can see here) but could also be Prussians, Saxons, Austrians, French and British from an earlier period. Another set of nice options for those seeking to add some diversity to their existing Travelbattle collection.
Travelbattle Metals // Perry Miniatures
All of this came out of the unexpected surge in support for Travelbattle over the Christmas period in 2025. More is waiting in the wings, including Infantry in Greatcoats and Artillery Crews, Cavalry in Mantlets, Landwehr, Cossacks, Highlanders and some Fieldworks elements. All of this might also come alongside new rules!
