Post-Apocalyptic Coast Guard Rescue Boat Released by Khurasan Miniatures for Modern & Pulp Wargames
March 16, 2026 by avernos
Khurasan Miniatures have a new model vehicle taking to the waves for their 15mm modern Zombie apocalypse range. When the world fell, and the dead began to walk, rivers, bays, and coastlines briefly became fragile barriers between pockets of the living and the endless tide of the undead. Those who could take to the water discovered a narrow advantage — mobility, distance, and a chance at survival.
In those desperate early days, surviving Coast Guard crews turned their vessels into lifelines.
Khurasan Miniatures // Coastguard Boat
This new model from Khurasan Miniatures captures the rugged practicality of these post-apocalyptic rescue craft. The kit is cast in mixed resin and pewter, combining fine detail with durable components suited to tabletop use.
Some of the pewter rail parts have been moulded and cast flat and will need to be carefully bent to match the contours of the vessel. Gentle shaping should allow them to fit properly, but hobbyists should take care during this step, as replacement parts cannot be supplied.
One minor design issue exists in the current production run: the top two parts of the superstructure were intended to connect with a male-to-female plug, but both pieces were cast as female connectors. Builders will need to align and attach these parts by eye. Future production runs are expected to correct this.
Overall, this is a complex kit, and Khurasan recommends it for modellers with some experience assembling resin miniatures rather than beginners.
Crew for the Dead Seas
The included crew figures represent the Coast Guard sailors who keep these vessels running in a shattered world. The miniatures are supplied without bases, making it easier to mount them directly onto the deck of the boat for a more realistic appearance.
If the model proves popular, future releases may include alternative crew options, such as civilian survivors or pirate raiders who have seized similar vessels for their own purposes.
Building the Boat at Speed
The base model depicts the craft cruising slowly through the water. However, these boats are capable of impressive speed, and hobbyists who want a more dynamic display have additional options.
A separately available lower hull allows ambitious modellers to create a dramatic scene with the vessel racing across the water, bow lifted high as it cuts through the waves.
Alternatively, the lower hull can be used to display the boat out of the water entirely, perhaps pulled onto a dock, beached for repairs, or hidden in a fortified harbour.
Endless Possibilities for the Tabletop
Whether escorting refugees, battling pirates, or racing along zombie-infested shores, this Coast Guard rescue boat offers a unique centerpiece for modern, pulp, or post-apocalyptic tabletop wargames.
In a world where land belongs to the dead, the water may still offer the living a fighting chance.
For now.
